Butterfly garden guide
This book has been a great help for a real novice about butterflies. We used it as a guide to build a butterfly garden and to plant plants and trees in our yard to attract butterflies. It's simple to read and understand, not complicated. Even though it's a children's book,it is very well written and informative. We've had a lot of fun with it.

Great for 4-Hers
I'm going to get my first goats soon and this book has answered all the questions I had. It also helped alot with my 4-H Goat projects. Even though it is written for kids I think that grown ups who dont know much about goats would learn alot from it. It covers pretty much everything, feeding, management, breeding, kidding, raising for pets, dairy, meat, fiber even packing and driving. There are ...

Excellent Resource for a beginner learning about wool and the world of felting!
I have scanned thru the book and now I'm reading it front to back. For the person that wants to learn the basics, understand the different fibers and such, this is an excellent book. The explanations have been clear and straight forward. I read reviews on several other felting books and this was the highest recommended and for good reason. Order this book knowing you will have an excellent ...

My most important gardening book.
I am the type of woman who prefers to own just one encompassing, straighforward, trustworthy reference on any given subject. This book is my reference for vegetable gardening. It is well illustrated, interesting, easy to navigate and makes sense. Just a note: This was my first year doing a full-blown vegetable garden and I did it by using methods described in this book. My garden was a 20x30 ...

Arkoe Garden Greenhouse In Design
I am so grateful to Roger Marshall for writing this book. Even a cursory glance of it gave me the impression that it was the book I would need to bring my plans of a greenhouse for the Arkoe Garden (arkoegarden.blogspot.com) to reality. After having read it, I am in the stages of finalizing the type of greenhouse I want and making plans for building it this summer. If you would like to see ...

Most Useful garden book I own
I have gardened for many years and have bought many gorgeous (and expensive) gardening books, most which didn't prove very useful. To be honest, I didn't purchase this book at first because I didn't like the cover. But then I noticed it at our local nursery, sitting right on the counter and priced low enough to inspire an 'impulse' buy, so I did. AND I'M SO GLAD I DID because it's by far the most ...

A book with love and respect
My husband is the hand-on beekeeper, I am just the helper. Mr. Bonney's book is written with love and respect of his bees. I think one has to have these emotion to be a good keeper of bees or livestocks or pets or family. His statement makes scientific (biological and physical sciences) sense. It tells WHY things are done in such such ways. Not just do this do that type of book.

Great book BUT...
This is a great reference book to have. I love the paperback version and I like the recipies. However, I also bought Rosemary Gladstar's Familiy Herbal, different title and different cover, thinking it was a different book. It is the EXACT same book page for page. So don't buy both.
