Best Pocketbook
It's a comprehensive pocket book, very well done. Each disease is presented on one page with clinical features, work-up and management. The therapy is up to date with doses for each drug. Easy to read. Bravo Tarascon!

Not normal Tarascon usefulness
This single card summarizes the myriad CYP-450 drug-drug interactions, but is so frought with exceptions and redundancies that it is not clinically useful. Also, Amazon charged me $3.95 for shipping which should have been ecologically minded and sent with a 42 cent envelope!

A Wonderful companion
It is amazing how such a small book could contain such a collection of vital and important information that you might need while practicing in the shift. The classifications presented in this pocket book of the different scales, criterias, and classes of diseases is absolutely great. Very concise and to the point , which is exactly what you need when faced with a case in the ED right there, and ...

Used to always have this with me.
I used to have this with me everywhere i went. Useful for all pediatrics. Probably the best mini-pocket pedi book. You can put it in the chest pocket. Let a student who wanted to go into ER borrow it. Neve got it back. Bas-tard!

An excellent pocket companion
High yield for all aspects of ICU life... as well as the medicine wards. It is very well written, with topics covered surprisingly well for its size. I basically ended up carrying this, its cousin text, the pharmacopoeia, The Sanford Guide to Antimicrobial Therapy, and The Consult Manual of Internal Medicine in my pockets. Thats all you need.

an incredibly handy and useful little book
I got this manual about a year ago as a gift, and I have really gotten a lot out of it. It's filled with very useful information, and it'll save your neck on a daily basis, at least. Ever since I got it, many of the other residents in my hospital have been buying it, and the consensus is that it can make your life a whole lot easier. The anatomy section is probably one of the most consulted ...
Tarascon Pediatric Tables Quick Reference Card 2008 (Tarascon Pocket Pharmacopoeia)

Tarascon Publishing, 2007
Very nice quick reference, I used it daily on my peds clerkship.
Great for med students, residents, and attendings, up to date and sooo easy to use. It made me look smart to be able to write orders for basic meds and IV's in two seconds while others were still fiddling for their pda's.

Pharmacopoeia
I've used these books since medical school and still go back to it when I can't find what I need on my palm pilot. It sorts drugs alphabetically and by class and even gives a relative cost estimate. It has an index and also other little tidbits, like algorithms for ACLS, conversion charts, and skin dermatomes. There is nothing that you will ever buy that will give you the same value. It is ...

Still a helpful resource
Excellent resource for drug information in a hurry - the most useful aspect for me in my practice is the information as to whether a drug is available in a generic form yet (very handy in these days of two-tiered co-pays). There is a table of comparative efficacies of different lipid-lowering agents. The chart of comparative strength for topical steroids is handy, as is the information on what ...

The best quick reference for prescribing info
I've used the pocket pharmacopoeia for many years, and it's the only book I'll buy every year when the new edition comes out. It's amazing how they can stuff so much info into a pocket-sized book. Sure, ePocrates and other handheld databases have more info, but I can usually look up a medicine in the pharmacopoeia faster than it takes to open up a Palm and type in the med name. This and the ...
