Green by Ted Dekker
I was eager to get my hands on a copy of Ted Dekker's Green. I had devoured the first three books in the series and had the highest of hopes for this latest installment. Considered "Book 0" in the series, I was a little confused at how this could be considered both the first and the last book. The book continues Thomas Hunter's journey against the evil Horde, while we follow alongside the ...

New To Max, Definitely Coming Back!
In his newest book, "Fearless", Lucado tackles one of the most important (and yet one of the most neglected by pastors) issues in scripture: fear. While being extremely sensitive to human nature and tendencies, Lucado offers spiritual guidance in almost every facet of fear. Beginning with the question "Why Are We Afraid?" he brings us all on the same playing field. He then proceeds with fears we ...

Life-altering book!
This book seriously messed me up! Richard Stearns in the president of World Vision US. In THE HOLE IN OUR GOSPEL, Stearns tells how he came from being a high-earning CEO to be the president of World Vision. He also masterfully shares the greatest problems/needs around the world and does a great job discussing why the world at large tends to ignore those in the greatest need and what we as the ...

One of my favorite cookbooks
Full disclosure: I love soup. So my review is inherently biased. But you want this cookbook. These recipes are easy, most of them are delicious, relatively healthy and a good mix of omnivore and vegetarian recipes. I wish every soup had its own picture but the pictures that are there are very well-done. There are no weird, hard-to-find ingredients and no over the top techniques best left to ...

Saved my marriage...
If everyone would read and apply the wisdom of this book...You think you know what he is going to say, but you don't!! :) I get nervous when 'church men' start talkin' about "RESPECT". He allays any fears by humor and just good common sense. This book is the genuine article on respect and love! And, at year 7 of my own marriage...I read it in the nick of time...My husband and I are living out ...

Great book everyone should read!
This is a great book. It looks at the stereotype of a Christian man and compares it to Jesus. In my opinion it brings a lot of freedom from religious restraints. It doesn't only speak to men though. My husband wanted me to read it to better understand him and my son. I not only got understanding of how they're wired but it spoke to me as well. My favorite quote in the book is towards the end but ...

Loved it
The first thing I'd say is if you are thinking about buying this book but don't think you'll get to it until after Christmas, don't worry - it really isn't all that "Christmasy". There are references to decorating and get togethers and things like that, but they really don't take up a lot of the story. Second, if you love quilting and cooking like I do, you will really love this book. I read ...

Perspective Matters
Perspective allows us to step back and see the bigger picture. To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect from Andy Andrews book, The Noticer. What could a stranger notice that would be so life changing? The man called Jones weaves in and out of the lives of normal people beginning with Andy. To the couple whose marriage is strained to the breaking point, Jones offers insight into how they ...

Transformational
I have worked with Christian college-aged women in a bible college setting for eight years. Every year the same identity issues are a source of struggle for these women as the try to figure out not only their futures but their pasts and how the two interact. There is confusion about how to live a Godly life while pursuing their 'calling' and relationships with men and friendships with other ...

The Word of Promise
This is an excellent way to listen to the entire Bible through this audio format. It is not like any other CD I have ordered of the Bible usually read by a single person. This has music and actors that interact and make the Bible and it's stories come alive.
The Search for God and Guinness: A Biography of the Beer that Changed the World

More than just Beer
A person might wonder what God and Beer have in common, especially with the way many people view alchohol these days. I wondered that myself when I started reading this book. I quickly found out, however, that it is not about what God has in common with Beer, but what God can do through something like Beer, and the people who allowed Him to use them. The Search for God & Guinness travels ...

Loved It!
This was a great read. I really identified with a lot of Miller's musings, including how self-centered we who live alone too long can become. It was the type of book where I found myself underlining and bookmarking certain passages, and I have a feeling I'll read this over and over again. I bought a paper copy for my sister for her birthday.
