Excellent book for divers and anyone interested in sharks.
What an excellent, well organized reference source for anyone interested in sharks, and especially for scuba divers looking for a good identification book. Of all the shark books I've reviewed, this one tops my list and is recommended to readers of my web site.

a great book
I bought this book for my 8 year old daughter, who loves to be with me in the kitchen. What a pleasure it has been to see her so excited about meal planning and preparation. On her very first meal, she prepared pasta in a broccoli cream sauce with orange-lemon slush for dessert. Her 4 year old brother (who rarely finishes his first helping) went back for seconds. She invited her best ...

A great text and pictorial resource!
I love this series. I used this text as a resource in my British Literature class to give students a clear idea of many cultural aspects of medieval life with which they were not familiar. The text is simple, yet informative; the illustrations are outstanding. What a joy this book is.
Mrs. Fields Cookie Book

Best cookie cookbook I've ever found.
If you are considering Mrs. Field's Cookie Book, you won't be disappointed. I've used the recipes from this cookie cook book for at least 10 years, now, and everyone who has ever tried one of my cookies says that they are absolutely wonderful! In a previous review, the reviewer stated that Mrs. Fields recommends baking times that are too long. This isn't true. She uses lower oven temps in ...

absolute best book i have ever read
This book is awesome, It mentions great ways to reframe our toxic way of thinking in an optimistic approach. I would love to teach this material in a class because it affects all of us 100%. The concepts and ideas are staggering and if we apply these principles to our daily lives we are going to live longer and more productive lives as well as reduce depression, hostility and divorce. If you ...

Superb for dabblers who don't want to look like dabblers
This book was captivating at first glance, and it keeps getting better. This is not a comprehensive how-to-grow-flowers guide for beginners, but rather a planning tool for evaluating color/height/form combinations. The bulk of the book comprises four sets of horizontal strips, spiral-bound, each showing a full-color photo on one side and a description on the facing side (description includes ...

Tremendous
This astonishing autobiography is one of the best books I've read, and judging from the fact that I am its first reviewer, it may be on of the best books that you've never read. This is the tale of a British officer captured early during the North African operations, and who is then imprisoned in Italy by the buffoonish and soon-to-be-without-ally Italian army, and who is then transferred to ...
Mrs. Fields I Love Chocolate! Cookbook: 100 Easy & Irresistible Recipes

Excellent recipes from this thin but big hardcover!!
Cookies, cakes, sauces, shakes, and more! "Rum-soaked Chocolate Malibu cake" and "Triple Layer Chocolate Peanut Butter cheesecake" and "White Chocolate Pecan Sheets" and "Mocha Souffle" and "Chocolate Caramel Custard". The lists of yummies go on and on. About 120 pages of recipes that are NOT pushing someone's product. The cookbook lies flat, open to where you can see big pictures of the ultimate ...

GREAT PICTURES of some HARD to UNDERSTAND TOPICS!
The pictures in this book speak a thousand words. The pictures in this book help the anatomy reader to gain deeper pictoral understanding of biochemistry. The artistry in this book of the HUGE pictures is really helpful. This book helps to "gel" the concepts. The book covers (6) chapers: The Mysteries of Human Life, Your Super Structure, Respiration and Circulation, Digestion, The Amazing ...

Very cool and informative Weather Guide
It has been said "people complain about the weather but never do anything about it." Perhaps that's because they don't know much about it. This book will help you learn more about our weather. I was looking for a book that explained about various weather phenomenon and came across it. I loved it not only because of the pictures and descriptions in the last chapter on various weather types ...

great tasty recipes, a little gem
I found this book in an english shopping mall called Bluewater in Kent at a branch of Jerry's Home Store! The book is very easy to use, well laid out and the food is always fantastic. It has made me look for other titles by the same authors.

Another winner from Williams-Sonoma
I borrowed this book from a friend and kept going back every week to photocopy yet another recipe. I finally decided it would be easier if I just bought my own copy. The Greek rice salad always gets rave reviews at parties and the Sangria recipe is by far the best I have ever found.

Finally! Do-able home projects for real people.
Now we take on that kitchen re-do we've been putting off since we moved in. For those of us who don't live in dream houses with unlimited budgets, most of the do-it-yourself books are just "wish books." This one, though, is as direct and basic as Hazelton's TV show. We especially like the boxes at the start of each chapter that tell you how hard a project is, how much time it will take and ...

Fascinating Introduction to Geology
This is the first Nature Company Guide I've ever read. I had always thought DK Guides were the very best. This book has piqued my interest in other Nature Company Guide books. This particular book offers beautiful photography, thought-provoking bits of trivia related to geological phenomena throughout history. Compared to a DK Guide on fossils, this book is more narrative in tone, and more ...

World War II in the Pacific
This book is typical of the Time-Life Series. Included are hundreds of great photographs, detailed maps, and line drawings that aid the narratives in giving a great overview of the war in the pacific as the allies moved toward Japan.
