Ultimate Core Ball Workout: Strengthening and Sculpting Exercises with Over 200 Step-by-Step Photos17 reviews
Jeanine Detz

Ulysses Press, 2005

Get Lean & Trim
I highly recommend this book. I am 63 years young, have always eaten heathly and maintained my weight. During the last 2 years because of very stressfull events in my life I stopped being physicaly active and although I ate healthy, I ate all the time. I put on 40 lbs. With the help of several nutrition books and the CORE BALL WORKOUT book I lost weight and I have been losing my oversized gut ...

The Liver and Gallbladder Miracle Cleanse: An All-Natural, At-Home Flush to Purify and Rejuvenate Your Body12 reviews
Andreas Moritz

Ulysses Press, 2007

Best thing to ever happen!!!!!!
I bought the book in January'08. I read and re-read it several times, was a little concerned: would I do it right, would it work? Finally on May 23rd I did the first one with good results. The second one was June 20th with excellent results. The epsom salts is nasty, the oil and juice isn't bad at all. I recommend it to anyone. I used to have a dull ache on my right side that is now gone. I'm on ...

Godless: How an Evangelical Preacher Became One of America's Leading Atheists1 review
Dan Barker

Ulysses Press, 2008

A Jaw-Dropping Book
This is a masterful book that powerfully refutes the bible using logic and reason. Powerfully written, this book should stand in the way in many of those Christian missionaries who preach the bible as an infallible book at face value. What is also great about this book is that it uses intelligence and common sense as opposed to emotions. This book serves as a big wake-up call to many ...

Atheist Universe: The Thinking Person's Answer to Christian Fundamentalism204 reviews
David Mills

Ulysses Press, 2006

Exceeded all of my expectations...
I've been questioning relgion for quite some time, but never really labeled myself as an atheist. This book is intended as a specific rebuttal to the creative design 'science' promoted by religiously influenced schools. Not only does it wonderfully refute creative design with solid scientific arguements, it also points out many contradictions within the bible on various topics.

Complete Krav Maga: The Ultimate Guide to Over 200 Self-Defense and Combative Techniques36 reviews
Darren Levine, John Whitman

Ulysses Press, 2007

Great student hand book
This is a great supplement to any student that is taking Krav Maga. Its impossible to get "it" all in class and having something to use as a manual at home is an asset to your training. Most instructors I have talked to also have this book and it covers a lot of what is in the instructors manual. its not all the trade secrets mind you but trimmed down and explained in a way that is perfect ...

Special Ops Fitness Training: High-Intensity Workouts of Navy Seals, Delta Force, Marine Force Recon and Army ...2 reviews
Mark De Lisle

Ulysses Press, 2008

BEST IN ITS CLASS!
I have read two other books by the author (Neal SEAL workout, and Master Level Fitness) and this is by far his best book to date, and I rate it BEST IN CLASS. There are so many "SEAL" fit-type books in the marketplace and I have read them all, but this is the very best of all of the ones available to the reader. The book is well-organized, is broken up into separate workouts depending on which ...

Elizabeth Fulton, Kathleen Prasad

Ulysses Press, 2006

Reiki on Animals
Animal Reiki: Using Energy to Heal the Animals in Your Life I am only half way throught the book, but find it very interesting.I used some of the information on a relative's dog and he really did respond to the energy.I like the little side stories about the animals Elizabeth and Kathleen have treated. I recommend this book.

Courage After Fire: Coping Strategies for Troops Returning from Iraq and Afghanistan and Their Families13 reviews
Keith Armstrong, Suzanne Best, ...

Ulysses Press, 2005

Compelling and pragmatic
As a disability service provider, I found this book particularly helpful. It is practical and to the point. Veterans can find tips on everything from how to sleep better to how to relax and cope with stressors. The triggers of anxiety are explained well, as are the ways veterans typically handle their pain. At the end of each chapter are helpful tips for family members. After I read it, I ordered ...

The Complete Master Cleanse: A Step-by-Step Guide to Maximizing the Benefits of The Lemonade Diet11 reviews
Tom Woloshyn

Ulysses Press, 2007

Great Book, really works
This diet realy works and is surprisingly "painless" for a big eater like me, I was amazed at the results, although I have almost 40 lbs to lose, it gave me good head start. You MUST follow the directions religously though, it's the only way it will work :-)

Dirty Japanese: Everyday Slang from "What's Up?" to "F*ck Off!"18 reviews
Matt Fargo

Ulysses Press, 2007

Very funny book with some minor flaws.
I found this book and I am a student learning Japanese. I found this book to be very humorous, especially in the order they put them in. I like the little side sections they put in such as the tan-tan-tanuki drinking song. I find this very enjoyable and I think many other people would find this book wonderful and humorous to read also unless you have no sense of humor.

Ellie Herman's Pilates Props Workbook: Illustrated Step-by-Step Guide9 reviews
Ellie Herman

Ulysses Press, 2004

Best Book for Joint Injury Rehabiliation
This is an excellent Pilates props book. I guess it's the best one, since it may be the only one. More importantly from my perspective with a chronic rotator cuff problem, it has the best exercises on the topic. Rotator cuff exercises are majorly boring. I never got the point of using therapeutic bands since I couldn't feel anything happening and the repetitions are tedious. I think that's ...

Total Heart Rate Training: Customize and Maximize Your Workout Using a Heart Rate Monitor9 reviews
Joe Friel

Ulysses Press, 2006

Very informative - almost too much
As with other Friel books I've read, there is an abundance of outstanding, detailed and reasoned information in this book. Probably more detail than any non-professional athlete needs, but it is an outstanding resource. I think it is well worth the money for someone who wants to understand the physiology and theory regarding workouts in order to maximize his/her fitness.

Psychic Shield: The Personal Handbook of Psychic Protection5 reviews
Caitlin Matthews

Ulysses Press, 2006

An Easier Way
I am one who walks a hard path - things are flung at me so that I have to figure out what they are and how to deal with them, and then once I have it figured out by wading through all kinds of new age crap and fluff and relying heavily on trial and error, upsetting the people around me (in both realms), with a lot of whining and sniveling thrown in for good measure, I find a book that could have ...

Solomon's Builders: Freemasons, Founding Fathers and the Secrets of Washington D.C.11 reviews
Christopher Hodapp

Ulysses Press, 2006

Solomon's Builders: An accurate origin of the founding of America
I am an active Freemason for more than 4 decades. Bro. Hodapp's work is the first well written account of the philosophical thinking that led to the formation of a common man's democracy. This is the reference book that teachers need to read and public schools use in their American History classes. There are countless books written by non-masons on the origin of America but non give credit to ...

The pH Balance Diet: Restore Your Acid-Alkaline Levels to Eliminate Toxins and Lose Weight2 reviews
Bharti Vyas, Suzanne Le Quesne

Ulysses Press, 2007

Good pH Balance Resource Book
I purchased this book as I began my own research into adapting a pH balanced diet. It has been very helpful. I also believe it is easier to read and absorb the information over some of the other books on the same subject. It offers an easy to follow diet, if one wants to go 100% into the program. For others, the information provided is easy to adapt into any diet program. Simple to follow ...

Mr. Darcy's Decision: A Sequel to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice4 reviews
Juliette Shapiro

Ulysses Press, 2008

Surprised but not too disappointed.
I was in the process of reading Excessively Diverted for about fifth time to refresh my memory for the new book. Like the other reviewers, I was surprised to find that Mr. Darcy's Decision was the same book. I will keep though because I collect P & P sequels and read them over and over waiting for new ones.Mr. Darcy's Decision: A Sequel to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice

Mr. Darcy Presents His Bride: A Sequel to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice41 reviews
Helen Halstead

Ulysses Press, 2007

A delightful page turner!
I absolutely loved this book -- it was everything I was hoping for. It picked up right where the original P&P left off. It was really as if Jane had written it herself. I couldn't put it down, at the same time not wanting it to end -- you know that kind of book! I'd like to read some additional P&P sequels but I don't want anything to spoil this for me. I'm hoping the author writes a sequel ...

Panic Attacks Workbook: A Guided Program for Beating the Panic Trick17 reviews
David Carbonell

Ulysses Press, 2004

I wish I had had this book 20 years ago...
I think the way the author deconstructs panic attacks, in a thorough, friendly and humorous way, makes it easy to see just how harmless they really are, regardless of how painful it seems at the time. I am learning to apply the techniques to manage panic attacks, and have already seen results. I have even found relief with anticipatory anxiety (a whole chapter on that). There are also helpful ...
