Great Reference Book
As a fan of Toyota Celicas - from a distance (never owned one), I love the details of this book and the many pictures which took me back in time. The author includes European and American versions all in wonderous color.

Nice detail but...
There are tons of pics and info about the European models, but unfortunately not alot of pics and details about USA models. Good info however on the colors and some technical areas.

gimme a brake!
This book is silly dont buy it. I bought it for help with acronyms and the occasional stray term and it has yet to help me i am a professional mechanic of 22 years. You will find the book is literally choked with obvious words that need no defining, irrelevant and nonsense entries.

Inappropriately Titled
I found this book to be of little practical use. The author speaks mostly in generalities, with little in the way of specific recommendations as to "How To" actually go about doing anything. Few of the modifications recommended involve the easier, simpler improvements that the average owner can do himself at reasonable cost which conribute so much to improving an MGB. Instead, most of the ...

The best repair handbook ever seen
Well, could say more. Yes... I bought this book to be able to fix small things on my Miata '90. What I got was a book that tells me in detail how I undertake minor and major repairs in text and supported by quite good black and white pictures. I am close to a total [fool] when it comes to engines but this book has helped my to perform at least medium complex tuning and repairs. Recommended!

Publisher's note
I hope it will be helpful to let people know that the edition currently on sale still has all the information contained in the original version, so those older reviews still apply.
Lotus 49: The Story of a Legend

Michael Oliver
Veloce Publishing PLC, 1999
Labor of Love
There are a paucity of books extolling the history of single Formula One designs. The Lotus 49 is one of the few that have been done twice. David Hodges did a piece in period, one that should be treasured by collectors, but one that also falls short of telling the complete story. Michael Oliver's effort is one of love for the car. It is extensive in its coverage of the story of the Lotus ...
