The Gregg Reference Manual - Phenomenal
I purchased the manual to use when I edit other people's documents. I have not had a chance to really go through and use the manual as yet because I've been busy with other things. I have flipped through the pages just to see what it offered and I have seen how terrific this manual is. It has everything a person would need in helping them to decide the best way to use grammar, spelling, ...

How It Helped Me!
It has been 26 years since I graduated from college. I just recently retired and have started back to college again. Things like writing research papers have certainly changed during my hiatus from the academic world. I really needed a reference to help me with the papers and someone at the college suggested this book (A Writer's Reference with Help for Writing in the Disciplines). The suggestion ...

Bopp, Richard E., and Linda C. Smith. Reference and Information Services : an Introduction., 3rd ed. REVIEW
This is an excellent text for Library and Information Science students. It is grounded in the history and importance of library reference services from the late 1800's to the present. Important reference text sources are described in detail as well as reference databases and the Web environment up to 2001. Content is well organized and topics are throughly covered, with emphasis on search ...

Mosby's 2009 Nursing Drug Reference (Mosby's Nursing Drug Reference)

If you are going to buy one drug handbook this should be the one. No other drug handbook enables you to access reliable drug information quicker. With an A-Z organization, each drug is easy to find. But whats even better is the fact that Mosbys Nursing Drug Reference gives you the most complete drug information for each drug, including uses, side effects, and interactions. Key nursing considerations are identified to help you assess, ...

Fabulous book!
I highly recommend this book for all library school students, and for practicing librarians too. The book mentions many of the resources available, and tells you how to use them too.

Good supplement
The exercises in this manual are very good--challenging and appropriate extensions to the concepts introduced in Hacker's book (which is, by the way, an outstanding reference book). However, I would have appreciated answers to all of the exercises, not just some of them. As an English teacher, I can deduce the correct answers, but some of the questions lend themselves to multiple ...

No online access card.
This product (sold at full retail price) does not include an online access card. The online access must be purchased separately. However, if I had purchased this book for the same price through Prentice Hall, I would have received an online access card and no additional purchase would have been necessary.

The Writer's Reference: sixth edition, 2007
A WRITER'S REFERENCE is a beautifully reorganized, compact version of THE BEDFORD HANDBOOK. (See my review on amazon.) I taught editing workshops for several years using The Harbrace Handbook as the basic reference. At the suggestion of a former colleague, I agreed to take a look at his favorite, The Bedford Handbook/A Writer's Reference. The first thing I noticed was its publisher's ...

Quantity and quality
Here is a standout presentation of the ins and outs of contemporary Spanish. Examples of idiomatic usage are generously supplied, but fine points do not get in the way of the basics. Altogether an exemplary text--well-orgnized, lucid, and thorough.

DSM-IV Purchase
Recently misplaced my DSM-IV quick-reference manual and needed one desperately for my work. Ordered from Amazon and had my replacement within a week. This little book is a must when you are working within a tight schedule so I really appreciate having Amazon and its sellers as a resource for replacing hard to find items such as the DSM-IV manual.

Bought it for class, keeping it for the fun! ;)
I bought this for a writing class I am required to take before I graduate. It is a great resource. I remember buying these when I was just a little freshman and they were never of much worth to me. This one is spiral bound, so it lays flat, it has sample papers to show you exactly how to use the format you need and many exercises that I have admittedly never touched. It will be a good ...
