I've read it over ten times
Since I first read this book over 15 years ago I've read the book over 10 times. I read it three times the first year. I felt it was an amazing story, very touching, and able to tug at me each time I read it. The strength and courage that the author had was amazing.

Awesome book
It has been a week since I have finished this book and I can't stop thinking about it. I don't live in the country or live off the land like the author but I could still relate to everything. I love the fact that he made his own assumptions and opinions and never pushed it on the reader. For those of the readers who were disgusted by the owners behavior with Merle, I laugh. He let this ...

The Lost Boy
This is a story about a young boy who gets abused and treated unfairly. He doesn't have any clothes besides the ones he caries in a brown paper bag. He runs away from the world he hates. He has no home to go to, then he finds hope. To find out more information about this book find it and venture into it. In my opinion this book was excellent and amazing. Why? Because it made me cry on ...

I'd give it six stars if I could.
M. Iam seriously addresses intimacy issues and provides a step-by-step deep relationship-nourishing format that begins with the art of exploring the pleasures of the Kama sutra from the vantage point of the couple's balanced physical, mental and emotional energy. In addition to initiating and maintaining the purely sensual aspects of love-making. Everyone should read this book. I have read a ...

Thank you for a WONDERFUL book. Both entertaining AND full of valuable information.
I wish to extend a huge thank you to Jacqueline for writing this book! My mother-in-law had been diagnosed with dementia and had progressed to point where we felt it was no longer safe to allow her to continue to live alone. Our problem was that she was fighting us "tooth and nail" at every turn. She did not realize the scope of her problem. She felt she merely could not remember things once ...

Amazing success!!
Upon a friend's recommendation, I gave this book to my sister-in-law who has had headaches constantly for over 40 years. It took a few weeks, but it has changed her life. She has used it for almost 3 months now and only gets headaches a couple of days each month. Now she is mad when she gets them, for she knows what life can be like without them. Also the headaches are different, still bad, ...

This book caught me and hasn't released me yet!
I absolutely loved this book. It was deeply inspiring. I stumbled onto it. My sister-in-law read it for her book club. I picked it up after her because we were at the beach and I needed something to read. What a surprise! I am a transplanted Texan and grew up in Ft. Worth so that was especially fun to see my home cowtown all hashed out. Much more than that, though, was the wonderful true ...

Fascinating Narrative
This amazing true story is about a violent 6-year old. You will be amazed by the details of how her teacher--Torey Hayden--reaches out to this child with special needs. This book is a must for teachers and parents.

A Book of Great Beauty and Intelligence
Although Lewis was, of course, a renowned and devout Christian, this book will speak to anyone who's lost someone with whom they shared real love. All of the questions, angers, and doubts that fill the mind during the numbing time following great loss are shared in the first person, generously, by Lewis. This is, I think, a beautiful, powerful, and deeply healing work.

Moving and Informative
I've read several births on midwifery and Peggy Vincent's is by far one of the most readable in terms of reaching a broad audience. If you reach for a midwifery book, in general you are pregnant and considering it as a birth option or interested in midwifery itself. There aren't a lot of general interest readers but Vincent's book is in a position to change it. It is both a memoir of a powerful ...

An inspirational book
Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul ll is a great book written by teenagers and some adults about life. It teaches us about life and how to deal with it. It shows us that no matter where you came form, what you look like, or how you act, almost all teenagers are the same. This book is an inspiration to everyone. This book influences me because it inspires me to become a better person. ...

A blessing
Final Gifts is a blessing for anyone going through the experience of sharing "nearing death" end of life with a loved one. This book was given to me by Hospice nurses and it opened my eyes and helped me to understand some of the communications that my mother was trying to convey. I recommend this book to anyone who has a terminally ill loved one.

Great pictures
The pictures in this book are beautiful and detailed. Well worth the money. If I could change just one thing it would be to add even more pictures as the book tends to skip over a few weeks here and there. Would prefer to have at least one picture for every week of the process.

A MUST HAVE
I picked this book up at random and boy! am I glad I did. I have recommended it to All my girlfriends both married and single. In our late 30's and early 40's we thought we knew it all, seen it all and bought the T shirts, but this book was so enlightening and totally worth every penny. It is down to earth, not overly moralistic and impractical. You will certainly see yourself in some of the ...

Growing up in Fayetteville and playing baseball with Kevin this was a story that really moved me. I got the book Christmas morning, and finished it Christmas night. I am not an avid reader, and my wife couldnt believe how much I enjoyed the story. I am looking forward to the sequel, and all other books that Kevin writes.

Truly a smart woman's guide to healthy relating!
I wished I had found Barbara's book years ago. Being single for 10 years and dating, most of what she writes I've already learned through trial and error. I found a lot of validation through her book and answered many questions on why it couldn't or didn't work the way I had hoped. Save yourself from the dramas of dating and read her book. It's a quick read and highlights the key areas of ...

not just about parent/child love...
I bought this book several years ago when Daniel Pinkwater reviewed it on Public Radio. It perfectly describes a relationship between parent and child, where the parent is the stable rock the child craves, the child the ingenuous spirit the adult has lost. I don't see it as being limited to adults and children. I have many of the same feelings about some of my adult friends. I do agree with ...
