The Heart of Compassion: The Thirty-seven Verses on the Practice of a Bodhisattva

enlightening
A powerful book that simplifies the deeper complexities of Buddhist thought. While at times the suggestions (of the 37 verses) might seem impractical, they offer truth on a metaphorical level as well. This book will have you thinking long after you close it.

A jewel of spiritual wisdom
This is an audacious and courageous book by a living lesson in love, the Dalai Lama himself. The teaching here, to echo the words from Shantideva, is itself the "living ground of love for innumerable beings." And this ground, uncovered and cultivated within, becomes a seedbed of compassion for ourselves and for others.

Spot on for your OB ANES rotation
Pretty solid little book packed with all the info you need for your ob anesthesia rotation. I wanted something more than Morgan but I didn't want to crack open big dedicated obstetrics text. This is the only thing around. Its a little on the pricey side and could use more illustrations. However, it delivers.

Pretty good book, and cheap too!
"Whew! It is never over. This book has been a pustule on our rear for so long. I will never write a third edition - you can bet the estate on it. So yes, David, you can be the first author of the third edition. ...." So begins the introduction by Robert Grossman to this second edition of "Neuroradiology: The Requisites". It is a bit strange to see so many bad jokes and bad poems and such ...

Another great Requisites book!
Genitourinary Radiology - The Requisites continues in the tradition of the other books in the series by offering a large amount of relevant information in an easy-to-read form. The book can be read in the first week of a rotation for a quick but solid foundation in GU radiology. Key points are summarized in boxes, and the images shown are of good quality. Great for radiology residents, and ...

Must have for US library
This is an excellent reference book with beautiful images of normal anatomy as well as pathology. It is very comprehensive with General as well as OB-Gyn coverage. My only disappointment was that it did not contain any pediatric ultrasound chapters.
Uniting Wisdom & Compassion: Illuminating The Thirty-Seven Practices of a Bodhisattva

Beyond Compare.
This book is excellent in its presentation of the thirty seven practices of a bodhisattva. What I enjoy about it most is that each practice is followed by a succession of pith instructions from the sutras, then from Indian masters such as Asanga, Atisha, Nagarjuna, Santideva, and then from later Tibetan masters and then from the Author of the book himself. Each pith instruction expounds each ...

Competes with Mettler
This is a new edition. Compared to Mettler this probably has a greater range of coverage. Both books are very good. Supplement with PET books like PET/CT: A Case-based Approach by Conti (this may be too expensive for a resident) or PET and PET/CT: A Clinical Guide by Lin (less expensive).

Well organised and well illustrated, easy to read
The authour has done a very good job of conveying the essentials of thoracic imaging in a easy to read and well illustrated single volume book. While coverage of some topics is superficial, the well organised differential lists and nice images make this book a pleasure to read. Residents begining in thoracic imaging and those preparing for boards will find this book invaluable. It does not ...

Should have bought it long ago
One of the most helpful anesthesia texts for the clinical setting I have ever bought. Really gives you a clue what to expect in the O.R. with different kinds of cases, what to think about, problems that can come up. It includes all the physiology and pharmacology that other texts have but shows you how it all applies clinically. Fabulous resource.

good as intro but not in-depth enough
i think this book would serve as a good intro, but there is not enough detail regarding specific imaging characteristics of common things -- I am less interested in knowing about phytobezoars (though they are fun for the whole family!) than about MRI appearance of FNH. i need more meat. well, i'm off to lunch.
