Great!
This book was well worth the price I paid. It covers a lot of grammar and quite a bit of vocabulary. Most of the exercises are set up so that you only need an index card (or other piece of paper you can't see through) to do them. Although I wish that it had a dictionary in the back, I'm still giving it a five-star rating. I sure wish it had an audio CD with all the reading passages, ...

As the title suggests.....
Randy Couture has been one of the poster boys for Mixed Martial Arts competition in recent years - and a good one at that. His words are well thought out, he's articulate, hard-working and talented. A lot is made of his age, as well. However, I don't think it means a great deal except to say he's an example of what hard work and good attitude can acheive. Erich Krauss and Glen Cordoza do a ...

Just skip the first 20 or so pages...
The rubber guard is a powerful system that in my opinion should be part of every no gi jiu-jitsu player's arsenal. Intended to give maximimum control over the opponent, it opens many opportunities for submissions and transitions into even more dominant positions such as the "spider web" while being difficult to defend against. There are some great techniques here, though many of them are ...

The 10th Planet System Rocks
Eddie's system is freaking awesome! I am an accomplished grappler and have always been interested in new techniques, etc. I was already familiar with the twister and a couple of the setups, but Eddie's book blew me away. My top game is so sick right now, that not one of my fellow students, nor my coach, can touch me! If you have some grappling experience, this book will revolutionize your top ...

Another great book from Steve Scott
Mr. Scott has taken his years of coaching experience and written another easy to use, informative, text. Much like his Armlock Encyclopedia, this book breaks down each technique into easy steps. The chokes in this book will help everyone who is interested; from the average, couch riding, UFC wannabe, to the serious groundfighting technician.

I loved this book!!!
The first time I sewed anything was in middle school shop class - we made this hideous blouse that I never wore because I didn't like the material or the pattern. I decided to get back into sewing because while I didn't like the end result, I loved the process. I have a sewing machine coming and I can't wait to get started. I want to try at least a few of the techniques I saw in this book. ...

Excellent Resource for Beginning Tilers
Michael Byrne's work in both his book "Setting Tile" and his DVD "Tiling Floors with Michael Byrne" are excellent resources for beginners, and were I an experienced tile setter, I would say so for those folks, too. As a complete novice I recently completed my first tile project, re-doing my bathroom, some 50 square feet. In my opinion it turned out very well considering it was a first time ...

Outstanding book!
I just got my copy this week and I just finished reading through it. I have come to expect nothing but the best from Mr. Scott and his latest offering is no different. His technically meticulous yet practically worded text serves as an excellent supplement to my training. Aikido Weapons
"Aikido Weapons Techniques: The Wooden Sword, Stick, and Knife of Aikido" is for beginners. It starts from the most rudimentary steps for people who have never used weapons before. The pictures are excellent. One of the most important things in learning is to start with good habits from the beginning; never let bad habits develop. This book teaches all the right habits. Since I am a novice, ...

A Guide to the Use of Scottie's Other Books
This one could be seen as the manual to using the material in Scott's other texts on the grappling arts. Good to see a reference to the Judo side of things(I'm not a current Judoka). It is his usual to the point style where he pushes the material not himself. I would love to meet the author and hear him talk about this stuff and demonstrate it (perferably not on me).

I think this is one of the best instructional histology books I have seen. Excellent stretch techniques
While this book was obviously written as a manual on stretching for patients of physical therapists, it is written in a simple format. There are great descriptions of each stretch under each picture, and with a little practice I was able to go through the lower body stretches with great results. The theory here - Active Isolated Stretching by name - is really powerful and I found it incredibly ...
