Dreams are to be followed
This is an honest story of a typical yet not-so-typical American family. But mostly it's about a couple following a dream through its ups and downs. A wonderful and inspirational book that everyone who has a dream, whether you think it will come true or not, should read.

RaisingOurKids.com LOVES this book!
The Big Shiny Sparkly First Words Book is a wonderful board book for toddlers, full of sparkly accents and hidden flaps to lift. My daughter really enjoyed this book, as well as it's companion book (The Big Shiny Sparkly Activity Book). You'll find scenes such as 'the petting zoo', 'at the playground', and 'at the pool', all full of items children commonly see on a daily basis. I feel that this ...

Shiny Skates
This book tells the story of the ability to dance on the ice for the children. The Shiny Skates teaches the young skater to follow her dreams. It also gives the skater the ability to gain self-esteem and confidence. The charms of the skates are also included in the book. It is good reading for any age group. Our granddaughter, 8 years old, really likes the book.

Highly recommended
I am a dance instructor/choreographer and am also a psychologist. I found this book to capture the young dancers' attention and provided an inspiring message to the aspiring dancer. I highly recommend this book to all young readers. Illustrations are adorable and keep the reader interested to see each page that follows. Makes a terrific gift!

Beautiful
What a wonderful idea -- teaching children higher spiritual concepts via the school of nature. Both my kids loved the colorful pictures and found the "lessons" quite interesting.

Wow
Wow, I have been looking for great kids' books like this that are both fun and full of substance...but not necessarily religious. Pondering the concepts in this book are even spiritually deep for an adult....but don't get me wrong, they are so simple, so poetic and right up my little girl's alley. She loves the silly imaginative play on every page and tells me where she finds "me" all ...

Another great children's book!
I loved the first book, The Things a String Can Be (as did my godson). Something Shiny, Something Round is just as creative and imaginative!! I love the bonus activity guides that come with the books -- very educational. The kids love it. I have my friend ordering them for her elementary school library. Hope to see more in this series!

Gotta love the "sparkly" books!
My daughter loves any book that sparkles. This series is super cute, but very simple. Better for "baby" than "preschoolers". If you like books that sparkle (and ones that are written more for preschoolers), check out the "sparkle n shimmer" series (Love, Valentine's Day, Happy Easter, Glorious Grandmas, etc.)

Cute, engaging &, educational
This book is great. Both of my kids love it. I don't know why it says it's for ages 4-8, since It's a collage-type picture book. There are some words in the collages, but nothing that is necessary to read in order to enjoy this book. I think it's perfect for the 1-2 year old. (Would make a great 1st birthday gift.) This book was a big part of teaching my kids colors because each page ...

Hope Music is Magic!
This beautiful book is a celebration of music and color. The creativity-inspiring poem and colorfully animated musicians and instruments give children words and visual images they can use to express their own physical and emotional responses to music.

great book
My son loves this book, the pictures are great and its not too long that he loses interest. This is one of his favorite books. He can tell me whats going to happen before he even turns the page. This book really helped get him into reading more.

What a Scream!
I just bought a copy and listened to Brick Mallery, Private Investigator. I listened to it in my car, on the way home. Rush hour traffic has never been so hilarious! I highly recommend this "audio screamer" for anyone who'd like to break the mundane torture of rush hour commuting. I'd also recommend this to anyone who likes to laugh.

An image-ladened celebration of the sudden beauty
Dick Gallup's poetry is an image-ladened celebration of the sudden beauty and unanticipated wonders of life and living. -- along with life's inevitable bumps, bruises, and unexpected consequences. Home: We rejoin our hero at the edge of a vast,/impenetrable morass. His feet glitter as fishes/darting in water. His arms are bathed in a milky/light. His hands touch the fronds at the water's/edge. ...

"Again, Mommy!"
I have to buy a new copy of this book because my son tore his copy from looking at it so much! He received it as a baby gift and it is one of the first books he looked at. He's 16 months old now, and still loves it! The book not only has dump trucks, but other construction equipment, a dog, a cat, a bird and many Little People!

Children love this simple singing story!
All three of my children have been through or are in the Kindermusik program and all three, two girls and one boy, have loved this little story best of all. Part of what makes it so special is the rhythm of reading it. For a long time, it was the only book requested by name for my two year old son. I only wish there was a copy available in hardback! With the kind of love this book has ...

I loved this book, I loved Dave's unapologetic ranting and whining about LA and its inhabitants (a**holes!!). I loved his special brand of 'gayness' and his queeny categorisations of the OTHER brands of gayness he is forced to interact with in rainbow flagged West Hollywood. For all the other non-shinyhappy people who inhabit (yes they do!!!) anywhere out of the LA geographical area, this book ...

Great book for babies & toddlers
This was the first book that my son loved as an infant. He loved to lift the flaps & touch the sparkly pictures. He could stare at & play with a page for a long time while I prepared dinner. At 18 months he still enjoys this book & learning the new words, shapes, & colors.
