Common Sense Reminders that a Little Goes a Long Way!
I love this book and my family does as well - it's one that we read aloud and even the younger children "get it." The stories not only make you think about how your own acts can influence others, but also takes Christian passages and helps relate them in a new way. My kids were amazed that one of the stories (the boy in the Bible passage about the 5 loaves and 2 fish) was mirrored in a sermon ...

Easy life changing ideas
There were so many suggestions on things you can do to make changes that I never would have considered, but sound really good. You don't have to feel like you're making huge sacrifices or missing out on things that taste good. And the very best advice in this book was, "Don't try to change everything at once!" Taking small steps will lead to big steps eventually. You can't do it all now, but you ...

An extraordinarily useful book
This is a superb work. It is not, strictly speaking, a cookbook in the traditional sense, but a beautifully annotated culinary aide-memoire. The ratios, all by themselves, are not enough (unless you have a good deal of cooking experience behind you). But, if you carefully read the book, you will have, in addition to the ratios -- which are easy to remember -- the techniques and understanding ...

good easy to follow recipes
I got this as a birthday gift over a year ago and have been delighted with the book ever since. While not as comprehensive as some cookbooks, the recipes that are in the book all make sense and are easy to follow. Ms Water's love of local ingredients and fresh food is clearly evident throughout. So far I've been pleased with every recipe I've tried. It's nice to know that a famous chef can ...

A Little Treasure
Simple Diary is a little treasure and a lot of fun! I first came across it in a book store and have since purchased several copies in different colors for family and friends. Each color edition starts off with its own introduction and you take it from there. My first choice happens to be Royal Blue. First though, you pick up the book ... it feels immediately friendly and valuable, reassuringly ...

The best no-knead book out there!
I've been baking bread for 30 years, and have bought numerous books on the art of bread baking, from the post-hippie Tassajara and Laurel's bread books, to the standard tomes from Beard, Clayton, Hensberger, to the more recent "artisan"-inspired books from bakers such as Reinhart, Bertinet, and Berenbaum. More recently I have explored the no-knead breads of Lahey's NY Times recipe and those of ...

A Diary that forces you to be witty, whether you are or not.
This is a very witty and clever fill in the blank diary. My kind of diary! It asks questions that you wouldn't normally think of. And some of the quotes are out loud funny. I have one book for myself and will definitely buy some more for gift giving. I've enjoyed just about all of Philipp Keel's books and art. They are always interesting and out the norm. I like that.

A brilliant and entertaining "cut-the-crap" approach to learning about, buying and drinking wine.
Unlike so many wine books -- which usually give lots of current vintage recommendations, but don't really help you to understand how to understand your own preferences -- this book gives you a foundation from which to build your personal wine knowledge. Even if you've been piecing it together on your own for years, this little tome puts it all together in one place, and presents a logical, ...

The Law of Attraction, Plain and Simple
There are so many books on manifesting on the market right now. Some are quite good. They lay out the steps and contain exercises that teach the reader how to manifest his or dreams. Others focus on one part of the process making it seem much more complex than it is. If you are looking for a good solid book on manifesting that looks at all aspects of manifesting while keeping the process ...
