Spawn Collection Volume 1 (Spawn)14 reviews
Todd McFarlane, Others

Image Comics, 2006

Great read!!!
Al Simmons/Spawn is one of the more interesting comic book characters I've read who I'd recommend to anybody. He's no tight spandex mr. perfect who wants to save the world so he can get a pat on the back, no he is a flawed man struggling with his inner demons while caught in the middle of an ongoing war between heaven and hell. If your looking for something engaging to read than this is it, ...

Spawn Collection, Vol. 25 reviews
Todd McFarlane, Grant Morrison, ...

Image Comics, 2007

Great storyline, great artwork, great everything!
Well, I finally received this book - so it has apparently come out finally (though spawn.com still says it came out in September). The book is HUGE and well worth the wait, and well worth the money I put out for it. I'm still delving into the Spawn mythos, so these books have been a great start for me. Get it!

Spawn9 reviews
Shaun Hutson

WH Allen, 1983

I have had a copy for YEARS!!!
This is one of those books that I assumed was self-published. Realy. While I didn't find any spelling errors I did fine enough logical and continuity errors to fail a freshman Lit student! The book was GREAT however!!! Read it, know it, be it! I wasn't aware that, when an abortion is performed in Britain, the fetus is sent to the basement in a basket where a depressed caretaker throws it in the ...

Spawn, Book 9: Urban Jungle1 review
Various

Image Comics, 1999

GREAT BOOK!
Spawn Urban Jungle. This is, in other words, Book nine from the Spawn's Book series. It has some of the greatest histories in the Spawn original saga (Issues 39 to 42). The first history is one of the sweetest ones ever, it describes a little boy's view of Christmas, makes you remember when you where a little boy and the "grown-ups" problems where of no concern to you. While Spawn is fighting ...

Spawn, Book 5: Death and Rebirth3 reviews
Todd McFarlane, Various

Image Comics, 1999

A first taste of Spawn books
I've never read a Spawn book before, but after reading Spawn 5 I'm going to read them all! I enjoyed the level of depth that that the writers used and how they left me hanging at the end because the odd man-who-was-changed-into-a-demon is helped by Spawn. I really like the level of artistry that the Spawn books have. Many of Marvel's books are black and white and I HATE THAT! We got rid of ...

Psychic Spawn1 review
Ryder Syvertsen, Adrian Fletcher

Popular Library, 1987

frightening and original
this book stands out among the glut of horror fiction published in the eighties because of its hodgepodge of genres, and this blend works well, because its so unpredictable.......it wouldnt be right to give away the plot here, and the cover blurbs reveal little of whats inside......but,just read the first chapter, and you'll finish it very fast......

Spawn, Book 7: Deadman's Touch3 reviews
Todd McFarlane, Greg Capullo

Image Comics, 1999

THIS BOOK ROCKS
This book is one of the best of the spawn books. The other good one being #6. i think everybody should be forced to read this book and we should form a religion based off this book. This book should become our new bible because it is so cool.I believe we should all stop showering in water and we should now shower in this book for it is just that cool. If you read this book you will score ...

Spawn of Dykes to Watch Out for3 reviews
Alison Bechdel

This latest version of "Dykes" delivers good artwork, postmodern lesbians, and chosen family relations like no one else in the business. A book you will read again and again.

Spawn of Hell4 reviews
William Schoell

Banner of Truth, 1984

William Schoell knocks another one out of the park
All his horror seems to be tour de forces, and SPAWN OF HELL is no different. The character of David Hammond is far from boring as other reviewers say; indeed, he's one of the most realistically drawn characters in any horror novel and is a perfect main protagonist. The depression and bad situation he begins the book in shows that horror can be found in everyday life, not just with mysterious ...

Angela (Spawn Series)5 reviews
Neil Gaiman

Todd McFarlane Productions, 1995

The Honor of Angels
_I was a never a big follower of Spawn- until I stumbled upon the character of Angela, warrior angel. This book collects the three issues of the Angela limited series. I am glad, for this story deserved the respect of retelling in a high grade format. _This is the mythic tale of Angela, heaven's foremost warrior for a hundred thousand years. No angel was was more decorated in the eternal ...

Alan McElroy

Image Comics, 2000

Shades of Grey won't leave you seeing red!

Timecop: Viper's Spawn: (#1)2 reviews
Dan Parkinson

Del Rey, 1998

An epic, two-fisted adventure!
A major improvement on the first book in the series, Dan Parkinson brings us a grand tale of time travelling Nazis versus the heroic TEC. Loads of fun, this tale reads like a pulp adventure in the classic style, with plenty of time-jumping and event manipulation thrown in. Parkinson explains some of the stuff he threw in to the first book, which allows this tale to make a lot more sense. The ...

Spawn of Skull Island8 reviews
George E. Turner, Michael H. Price, ...

Luminary Press, 2002

A marvellous resource for Kong fans and all students of special effects
As "Making of" books go, I can't say enough good things about this one. It covers the creation of Kong from the first glimmerings through story revisions to the whole production process in as much detail as you can stand. Anybody interested in Kong will obviously love it, but it's also a priceless resource for anyone interested in the development of special effects technology, or in filmmaking ...

The Spawn of the Death Machine2 reviews
Ted White

Warner Books, 1974

A favorite read
Don't let the title put you off of this book. It is a good read about the engineered death machine (human with steel bones) with the normal catch of thinking it's human (and it is) but with flashbacks. Fall of civilization, good story. Short but interesting.

Spawn19 reviews
Todd McFarlane

Image Comics, 1995

McFarlane Makes Marvel Shiver
Todd McFarlane and Rob Liefeld and their merry band of inkers and scribblers moved on from the publishing slaughterhouse of Marvel Comics to form their own brand of magic in Image. Soon, along with Marvel and DC, they became legion. Too many years had passed with artists treated badly, raped of thier work and paid a pittance for their scemes and visions. So says Frank Miller in the foreward to ...
