Very Good Book for Frequent Cook. Lots of Variety
`Nightly Specials' is written by Michael Lomonaco with an assist by ace New York City celebrity chef co-writer Andrew Friedman and with photographs by the Rothstein husband and wife team who also did Eric Ripert's `Return to Cooking' opus. Michael Lomonaco was the head chef at the Windows on the World recipe on September 9, 2001. By pure chance, he was not in the World Trade Center when the ...

Perceptions of The Moment into Poetry
This book is loaded with information and after almost 600 pages later; here I am with an overview. Most of the books I read tend to be around 200 to 300 pages, so this book is like two or three books put together, consisting of different interviews from the 1950's to the 1990's and a very mixed bag, packed with intriguing thoughts of poetry, prosody, prose, Ginsberg and the Beatific scene that ...

KAPOW! ZAP! BIFF! OOOF!
Here is a book to challenge smug Western ideas about Christian church and missions. Don't worry about the author's "liberalism" or "conservatism." He shows some attachment to his own denomination's political structure, and he uses language which we consider outdated (seeing as the book was written over 70 years ago), but otherwise he preaches an appropriately "modern" message of mere (and ...

Confounding Inspiration for a better world
This is an optimistic look at practical ways in which a change in my thinking can impact the universe really. It sounds outlandish but the authors do a good job of drawing on new discoveries in scientific research to support their views. I plan to read it again to better internalize their theories because if valid, the suggested personal behavioral changes should be profound.

Robert Lee's "The Power of Coincidence"
This book was well researched and well written. It conveyed its thesis in a very entertaining manner, with many anecdotes from the author's life. This book motivated me to better myself to allow coincidences to help guide the events in my life. However, while reading this book I realized that the editor missed many typos in his/her revisions. Other than that, the book was perfect. I can't wait ...

Hope
Here is a book to come back to time and time again... as I have. In the midst of my own cancer journey, I have made it a point to read and re-read portions of this book. In the darkness and uncertainty that accompanies Cancer, this book gave me hope. A guiding light, on a sometimes starless night. My dog-eared copy of this book will forever maintain a cherished place on my bookshelf.

Training meets impro - a fantastic new fusion
"How to make your training creative, flexible and spontaneous" is the subtitle, and indeed the aim, of this new release from arch-training-publishers Gower. There is a great deal of excellent wisdom about training here which would serve any trainer well. Jackson's background as a BBC producer and a journalist serves him well. Not only is this book unusually well crafted, but he brings ...

Comments by Joe S Moore
Editor Jaime Snyder (Bucky's grandson) added a 22-page Introduction, a lot of footnotes, page numbers to the two pictures sections and smaller pages which added to the length. There's some additional info in the back, and of course a new index & cover. All in all it probably would be worth buying the new edition (paperback) even if one has the older 1963 edition.

Packed With Good Ideas!
I used this book years ago when I first started teaching Creative Dramatics. I found it extremely helpful then. I couldn't find my old copy and purchased it again when I decided to take on a group of 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. This book was like an old friend. It got me started and inspired me to come up with new ideas. I have worked with all ages. This book has good material for little ones, ...

Sparks of Life: Darwinism and the Victorian Debates over Spo
Excellent! I was not aware that there was such disagreement about the implications of Darwin's work among his earliest followers. The book was fascinating from historical, philosophical and scientific points of view. As a person in the medical field I found chapter six especially interesting.

Best book Kerouac related book I've ever read.
For what it's worth, I've read all of Kerouac's books. And I've read at least a dozen books ABOUT Kerouac. "Kerouac's Spontaneous Poetics" by R. Weinreich is by far the best. Reading it was the turning point for me because it opened my eyes to what's most essential about Kerouac, his writing. Now hardly a month goes by that I don't reread parts of this book. I've enjoyed and learned from every ...

Excellent, quick read!
I hadn't read Deepak Chopra in a long time, since the 80s when I read Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. I'm glad I found this book. It's absolutely excellent. It's an abridged version of a book of the same title. An easy and quick read. Chopra provides one of the best explanations of the nature of reality, which he divides into three levels, that I've ever read. And his quantum physics ...

Good Information on Self Healing
I found this book to be full of useful information and first hand accounts from energy practitioners. It describes the personal energy field, and how to manipulate and clear it for wellness. It's like Reiki, before reiki got trendy. It is intuitive, and I was able to put some of the information to use immediately.

If you like Darwin, do consider Ward...
A very interesting theory on why society is what it is today, and how it began. Also, Ward asserts that human beings are at a point in which they have enough knowledge to control how society functions in the future. His vision is a hands on control of evolution based on observations of how the evolution of nature works. This text is a crossroad where science and humanity meet.
