Stephen Colbert's Tek Jansen #31 review
John Layman, Tom Peyer, ...

Oni Press, 2008

Tek just keeps getting better
I love this series! Tek just keeps getting sillier, and a little darker too. A loving parody of sci-fi comics of yesteryear, Tek is James Bond meets Inspector Clouseau in a Flash Gordon universe. Drawn and inked beautifully on durable stock, this would make the perfect stocking stuffer for people who like to laugh!

NEW WAYS TO DIE: THE FINAL CHAPTER Some jobs a man just has to do with his own two hands! For the first time in a loooong time, it's the one, true GREEN GOBLIN versus the AMAZING SPIDER-MAN! And whoever walks away from this one still has to face... HARRY OSBORN?! Just what is HARRY up to?! Plus: ANTI-VENOM goes toe-to-toe with a classic villain from Spidey's past! This one's got it all (including more pages!), Spider-Fans, and when it's over, ...

Stephen Colbert's Tek Jansen #2 (Stephen Colbert's Tek Jansen)1 review
John Layman, Tom Peyer, ...

Oni Press, 2008

Fun as always
Took a while to get here, but it was worth it. Almost. It would have been more worth it a few months ago. :) But as a member of Colbert Nation, I must recommend this as highly as possible. I give it 18 stars. (And it really is a fun read.)

Tall Tales2 reviews
Al Jaffee

Abrams, 2008

From the genious behind the Mad fold-ins
I had no idea this book existed, but a friend who knew I like comics gave it to me as a gift. This stuff is GREAT! The same sense of humor that gave us the crazy back covers on Mad magazine which when folded revelaed hidden pictures. Similar in nature to Sergio Aragones' drawings in the margins. I love this book.

Stephen Colbert's Tek Jansen #118 reviews
Stephen Colbert, John Layman, ...

Oni Press, 2007

Tek Jansen - a must read!
When I heard that the Tek Jansen comics were coming out, I was at first nervous. Would the comics be just as good as the show, or would they fall short of Stephen Colbert's hilarious brand of comedy and disappoint me? Luckily, Tek Jansen issue number one managed to be a completly hilarious comic, and I loved it instantly! The humor is not entirely like Colbert's, but similiar all the same. ...

Not Quite What I Was Planning: Six-Word Memoirs by Writers Famous and Obscure50 reviews

Great, although not quite what I expected
I read the book in preparation for the Jewish new year, a time when Jewish people look back at our lives and reflect. How would I look back on my year, given 6 words? -Rabbi Jamie Korngold is the author of God in the WildernessGod in the Wilderness: Rediscovering the Spirituality of the Great Outdoors with the Adventure Rabbi

The Partly Cloudy Patriot64 reviews
They Might Be Giants

Simon & Schuster Audio, 2003

good job
Just because Vowell is unapologetically partisan in her essays throughout The Partly Cloudy Patriot doesn't make her book any less interesting. In fact, it really enhances it. Even though I found myself agreeing with basically all of what she said, I suppose I could understand why some conservatives could get upset at some of the content here. That would be a waste though; Vowell didn't write a ...

Biography - Colbert, Stephen (1964-): An article from: Contemporary Authors1 review
Gale Reference Team

Thomson Gale, 2004

Not good enough
A paltry bit of information for $5.95. The birthdate appears to be incorrect, as well. This "article" puts it an April 20, 1964, but I have seen numerous other citations that say May 13, 1964. So which is it, and why the discrepancy?

8W8 - Global Space Tribes3 reviews

8W8 ventures inc., 2007

Crash course on Web 3
Wow! For someone like me who could never get into technical articles and books about the Internet, Ralf Hirt's 8W8 Global Space Tribes is as refreshing as a cool breeze in Death Valley. I found myself thinking I was one of the characters in the novel waking up in EA-RA and sitting down for breakfast wondering what new insights, digital or otherwise, waited to be revealed to me that day. It ...

Buzzkill24 reviews
Rob Fox

BookSurge Publishing, 2007

Modern Noir
Fox captures a time and place that is so hard to replicate, Hollywood circa 2007. Buzzkill is a winner, I couldn't put it down. The characters are all people you know, even though you're not willing to admit it. The only thing better than who actually done it is how Fox gets there.
