Excellent book
I have the First Aid 2008, and the 2010 edition has definitely made some improvements! The biochemistry section is much heftier than it was before, and more of the information has been assembled into tables. It's much easier to go through now. Also there are way more pictures than before, which is also helpful.

This book is PHENOMENAL!
I'm a 2nd year physician assistant student getting ready for rotations, and this book has everything i needed. It breaks down each major system in a bullet-style format and has plenty of info packed in. It's organized quite well and has some nice sections in the back with quick guides to things like antibiotic therapy, xray reading, common complaints, and so on. DEFINITELY worth getting. Its ...

This book will change your life
Many of us have chronic body pain of some type or other. I had alway assumed this was normal and just part of living (stress), growing older (more stress), and being in a sedentary occupation. This book challenged these assumptions in my life and presented clear and compelling evidence that just because body muscular-skeletal dysfunction in our culture are common, doesn't mean it's normal. We ...

Collins Lingo Redux
At a CEO Dialogues roundtable recently, leaders recommended their favorite books--or recently read books. The list and variety is always intriguing. Usually, it's the recommender, not the title, that causes me to succumb to Amazonitis. I've noticed that smart people remain smart by reading smart books. But...what really got my attention that day was the recommendation from a CEO. She had ...

YOU WOULD BE HARD PRESSED TO FIND A BETTER BOOK ON GRILLING.
After years of turning out some of the best meals imaginable and creating meal after delectable meal, I figured that my wife had more or less paid her dues. I have always cooked; love to cook, but to be fare and honest, the burden of planning, preparation and serving had always fallen on her shoulders. After so long, did you realize that simply planning meals, day after day after day can become ...

Tipping Point is no little thing
Gladwell has a unique writing style that keeps you reading from start to finish. Erudite is the word that comes to mind. No one ever writes about the things that intrigue him, yet once you begin reading you become intrigued also. He's a master of trivia that is never trevial. I've read several of his books and look forward to more. If you read Tipping Point it will be a tipping point for you ...

Great book
a real page turner, very well written, very informative and potentially life changing - I thought it was an eye opener and very inspirational - I have made just two changes so far, when you read the book, you will probably know which ones - I thought I knew a lot about nutrition, but have learned a lot more! I highly recommend this book and plan on getting a couple more copies for presents. :>)

great book for a quick review, use other sources too
This book was great. I scored in the 99th percentile by skimming this book twice, USMLE world, and a quick read through First Aid for Step 2 CK for basic information and understanding. My advice would be to read through Secrets as you take USMLE world and take notes in the book [some of the info is out of date but you can update as you go]. Studied about 3 1/2 weeks with only these 3 sources.

must have for every person
This is probably the 9th copy of this book I have purchased! Most of my entire wedding ceremony speech and vows came from it. I give it to everyone special to me, especially when they are having a hard time finding peace in the moment. This book is amazing. Never read it cover to cover, and never read too many of the very short and simple passages at one time. Just read one or two and soak them ...

Nice Gem!
One of my favorite books in this series. It covered every question that I had on my shelf examination in no time flat and it was an excellent read. In fact, I read through it so quickly that it really left me with more than enough time to read through other books during the rotation. You will find that it rarely introduces a topic that is far fetched, and it will never leave you with too ...

A new sense of peace
I heard about this book while listening to "The Steve Harvey Morning Show," and I was interested in what made Dr. Smith write something other than diet books. I got a copy of the book and from beginning to end, I enjoyed it. He wrote about being a workaholic and having somewhat of an addiction to technology, two traits in which I have. At the same time I was reading this book, I switched cable, ...

Excellent complement resource
Looking back on my internal medicine rotation (Jan/Feb 2010),I found this book to be the most helpful source of information with respect to the shelf exam. I don't believe that it contains all of the information that you need to know, or for that matter, should know for your future. I do believe that it takes the critical concepts of diagnosis and management that you need for the shelf exam, ...

Electronic 'Big Book' to Go
This is the indispensable basic text book of recovery. The stories in this copy of Alcoholics Anonymous are from the 2nd Edition, and therefore may present some 'new' stories to readers of the 3rd or 4th Edition. What a bonus! Textbooks are for studying, and it's wonderful to have this indispensable material available for review in a variety of forms. Kindle is just one more way that the ...
