Very useful and more informative than more expensive books
Love the Storey Country Wisdom Bulletins. These are great because they are inexpensive and they offer basic useable information that most people can use. What I loved about this bulletin aside from the lovely illustrations of so many herbs, many I grow, is the fact the authors give a history of the herb and its origins. As well as how its grown, harvested and used. For the price which is so ...

Super Cheese
This kit helped us make super delicious cheeses. The mozzarella was excellent, so was the ricotta. We are experimenting with american cheese right now. Next will be cheddar. My entire family has enjoyed learning about the making of cheeses as well as the sampling of our efforts.

A must for Raising Pigs...Tonasket, WA 2002
This is a must for pig raisers! I should know, I raise 5 breeding sows and write my own farm books, and I even mention this book in my resources section! It's that much of a needed book for pig farmers. Every subject you want to know about pigs is found in this book, from showing at the fair, breeding the pigs, to the business aspect of running a farm...

Has the basics
I found the suggestions about safety, various methods of lifting heavy materials and the general description of rock wall building extremely helpful. In fact, he has some ideas of lifting large (heavy) rocks that I did not find in the other books I purchased and it has been just the right advice. However, when using this book as a guide, if you do not have "perfect" fieldstone or limestone ...

Everything we needed to know...and more
I bought this book for my husband who has always wanted to raise a small farm of beef cattle. He took the book along on our 2 week vacation to Europe and completely devoured the book! He loved it, says it's the best single book on the subject he's ever seen! He has now requested the same series for pigs. (We already have the one for chickens). Oh, our first calves will arrive in a few months!

After "The Confessions," maybe the best-ever 'autobiography of Faith'
Today I delivered a gift copy of this book to a widow, "Grace" whose husband had been my late father's closest childhood friend. A week earlier, Grace had asked: "Have you ever read Thomas Merton's SEVEN STOREY MOUNTAIN? I read it in 1953; and found it very moving. I'd love to find a copy and read it again." When I presented her with a new copy of this edition, I asked if I could read aloud ...

Awesome read for novice chicken keepers
I am totally new to backyard chicken keeping and I am loving this book! It has very detailed information (sometimes an overwhelming amount). The information is easy to read and apply and has helped me a lot in my chicken keeping. I highly recommend it!!!! NOTE: Don't buy it with the "Building Chicken Coops" package. That is just a small booklet that is verbatim a chapter in this book.

Concise and clear
A very direct sudy in cultivating one of the best loved crops; tomatoes. Advice is straightforward, as are illustrations. Tomatoes are easy to grow but only after a few seasons of experience. Well, this bulletin gives you all that "experience" in a clear, straightforward manner.

"Your Dreams are speaking to you loudly and clearly in the utmost ways!"
This is one of the many nuggets of higher truth this book and this man teaches. Although only on page 40, and after having the unique opportunity to see Dr. Storey speak last night at "The Gathering" in Los Angeles, it is clear to me that this book is meant to reach the masses. Right from the beginning, the reader is pulled into the "diner of life", seated at the best table in the house, and ...

Simple intro
This book is fairly short (111 pgs with not a lot of print on them,) but is a great introduction to writing for history classes. It doesn't go into lots of detail, it is very basic. It was helpful in figuring out "What on earth should I write about?" "How do I make a thesis?" all the way to finishing a history paper.

Cultural Theory And Popular Culture: An Introduction

Excellent and clear introduction--a good foundation
When I was a grad student in anthropology, I needed to get up to speed in this field in a hurry. I bought the 1st edition of this book and read it quickly. I was very glad for the background in some basic field of cultural theory and popular culture. While no means definitive, and probably debatable on a few points, this is a very effective way to quickly become familiar with the field. I ...
