essential for all photographers
If you are just starting or have been working for awhile with artificial lighting I really recommend you buy a copy of "Light, Science and Magic" , third edition. I have never come across as comprehensive yet down to earth guide for understanding and using the properties of light as this book. I have no connection with the authors and in fact only recently (early Sept. 08) bought a copy after ...

Great book
I have read John Kotter's previous work on leading change so I was curious as to whether his concepts could be effectively conveyed in fable form. To my delight, I discovered that Kotter put his own findings about the power of stories to work to create an engaging story that conveys his principles about organizational change more powerfully. By reading this book, my staff and colleagues remember ...

This fitness program is the real deal! Great book!
"Body For Life" is the most approachable, motivational, and effective fitness program I have encountered. Several of my male friends were getting in extremely buff while following this program, and their wives were getting into great shape, so I had to toss my skepticism aside and give it a try. Sure enough, even after 6 weeks, people were noticing that I looked "physically fit." The ...

worth every penny!
Highly recommended book! I've seen how funny the author on their show in PhotoShop User TV is, and you can imagine how he must have written this! Overall, very concise, straight-forward, no-BS, entertaining content. Although some of the techniques he gave here are not new to me, (all of it are helpful, btw) it is primarily targeted for dSLR beginners. Don't get me wrong! but some of the tips are ...

Exactly what I was looking for
this book is great - numerous test shots for each lighting style which highlighted subtle variations in the test shots based on changes in the lighting setup. Diagrams illustrating the equipment used and it's position - the only thing I would have added is more specific distance information for the diagrams, including height.

Magic Tree House books 1-8 on cd
My 2nd grader does not like to read. I bought these cds to encourage the reading process. Just starting in chapter books this year has been a huge change from simple picture books. Reading the books along with the cds has helped the books seem more interesting and easier to get to the end without getting discouraged or distracted.

Something Fishy to Me!!!
Super Book, as are all Dr. Seuss books! Book was new and as described. Fast shipping...rec'd in 4 days. It would be nice though if Amazon didn't set the shipping rates so the sellers could use media mail for their books to make it cheaper for the purchaser! If they didn't charge the flat $3.99 rate, it would make purchasing more affordable and one could do it more often! I'll buy from this ...

Very nice book
I just ordered books for my almost 2 year old grandchild. Out of the seven I sent her my daughter says that the baby loves this one the most. The pictures are nice in a vintage style of soft colors and pen and ink. My grandchild listens while the entire book is read.

Well Written
This book is well written and explains the fundamental details of .NET platform. It also touches upon the new features of the language in .NET 3.5. A very nice coverage of LINQ as well. WPF could however have been a bit more detailed.

great tutorial for converts!
I recently switched from a 7 version vetran of Sonar to a new Mac/Logic convert. So teaching an old DAWg new tricks hasn't been easy and Logic is full of handy little tricks that you wouldn't guess just opening up the program and starting with it. This book and the companion website ([...]) has been an invaluable resource for me in the transition.

Not for the wimpy mided
Kevin Trudeau may well be as much all about the money as he blames the whole world, have crime records, and more. Yet, people still have to listen to him. Most people in America are very negligent about their obesity and diet despite the epidemics of cancer and more diseases. Everybody has known at least a person with a severe disease, such as diabetes, we all know that the canned and boxed food ...

Beautiful Book
I had to buy this for my Life drawing class, but I'm not going to sell it back to my school. This book is great. Though it is a bit repetitive, it helps break down drawing skills. After reading this book, I drew a portrait that sold for over $100. It also has some beautiful pictures in it, so now my mother has stolen it, to have on her coffee table....

Down-to-earth review of the tools and techniques of photoshop.
This book is the text for an advanced photoshop class I am taking. The author explains everything in simple terms and very thoroughly. The CD that comes with the books provides all images he uses as examples so you can try the techniques along with the book or use your own pics. I am only half way through this book but I think it's definitely helping my understanding of photoshop. The only thing ...
