a great review
This and Rush make a good review before the Absite for the lower levels. It might be too simple for the advanced levels, but at least intern and R2 would benefit from this book. Was a very good review, just lacked a little detail on some things. (but had some very good high-yield points!)

Great text easy to read and patho portion is great for clinical. Try to get the text split into 2 books. Its also cheaper this way, makes it so much easier to transport from home to library to school to study groups etc.

Great
I am very happy with this book. I know students that got the two volumes and they are happy, too. The information in the 7th edition is presented clearly. There are tables for everything...medications, diagnosis, illnesses, etc. Farely easy to read. Can't go wrong with it. I, also, purchased the companion, it is good for looking up things quickly and doing patho. I am now getting the study guide, ...

Excellent text-book for teaching gynecological surgery
Outstanding and most complete description of most important subjects in relation with the teaching of gynecological surgery, ideal for medical students and residents. Specially important, there is a chapter on ethics and gynecological surgery.

The Best Nursing Study Guide I've Used
I have often been frustrated by "study guides," left with the feeling that I didn't really get value for my money . . . the same can not be said for this study guide. Answers are given at the back, but more important the answers come with rationals that help to truly "OWN" the concept. Buy it or wish you had later.

excellent
I first purchased the 2nd Edition eight years ago, and when I was asked to teach a Basic Dysrhythmia Course at work, I found out that there was a 4th Edition. I just had to get this edition, the pictures and information in the book is basic enough for license staff and future telementary techs. No one gets lost reading this book, and it supplements what I am teaching. Thank you for the 4th ...

A Great Surgery Review
This is as near perfect a surgery review text as you can find that will prepare you for both your third year surgery clerkship and NBME surgery subject exam and Step 2. This book is very quick reading and is FULL of tons of great diagrams, charts, CT, X-rays, U/S, angiograms, etc. It's written in a clinical cases format with specific and pertinent management questions and solutions, as well as ...

Review of Porth's Pathophysiology
Porth's Pathophysiology provides a deeper look at the pathophysiology behind many health conditions. It is well written and interesting with helpful tables. There is a CD with animation that is helpful for seeing how the illness develops, but it is not as in depth as the text.

Best Book of Its Type Bar None
This book is a "must read" for anyone interested in accomplishing just what the title suggests - surgical speed shooting. This would include those who shoot IDPA and IPSC but I find the book geared more for self-defense. I find myself reading the book several times a year and have worn out three of them since first purchasing the book several years ago. The book is (in a word) concise. It's ...

Underrated!
I didn't have high hopes for this book b/c of all the reviews, but I didn't know what else to go through since nothing really is rated high for surgery. I just took my exam and my only regret is that I didn't do more of this book. Yes, the questions and explanations are very detailed but they go over all the relevant information and give you enough to make you really understand WHY so it sticks ...

Best book to learn F&E for the first time
This is the text that I used to learn fluid and electrolytes when I was in nursing school. By far the this is the best place to start. I haven't seen another text that makes this subject as accessible as this one does. For example, the authors used a picture of a magnet to illustrate how albumin pulls water from our peripheral spaces into the vascular space. There are many examples of pictures ...

Good for nurses or for any interested layperson
This book gives you a good introduction to pathophysiology without being very technical. Even if you are not a medical professional, you will still grasp the concepts because the author gives simple but adequate definition of the disease and its underlying causes. I am a career switcher (switched to RN) and this book worked for me.
