Delicious and practical
As a huge fan of the Public Radio show I was delighted when this book came out. Rossetto-Kasper is a practical enough cook to know that supper is often a hurried affair, often involving a bag of Fritos. The recipes are easy to prepare and easy to upgrade. My most-used recipe is the cheater's version of homemade broth, which starts with canned chicken or vegetable broth to which you add white ...

AMAZING BOOK
I felt everything Augusten felt as I read this book - the fear, the confusion of an innocent child, always just eager for his father's love - and never really understanding WHY he wouldn't receive it .... brought tears to my eyes as I empathized with Augusten but also out of the FEAR that he felt all the while growing up... he made me feel it too.

Extremely helpful
This book was extremely helpful for me as you really need this kind of written practice in Spanish verbs if you are going to fully master the various conjugations (especially for me sitting a university paper in spanish). I highly recommend it, it really helped me practice recalling the words out of my own head.

Fun read, but thoughtful as well
I knew I was going to enjoy this book. I had never heard of the author's blog before, but the premise of the text was such that I would have laid money that I'd enjoy the read. And I was right! (I've been friends/lovers/etc. with enough veterans of the food service industry to know there's a lot to rant about...) The Waiter (as he shall be known) survived a number of years both as waiter and ...

Dazzling
Mr. Mezrich, in "Bringing Down the House", gives us a fascinating account of a group of MIT students who took "card counting" at the blackjack table to a whole new level. This fast paced page-turner takes a thrill ride that reads like a novel. Great read!!

Good for on-line play
This volume completes the series. I play only on-line. The whole section on tells is about betting patterns. On-line thats all you have to go on. So this works great for me. Combine that with the board reading skills I picked up in the first volume and my NL cash game has improved a whole lot. I think anyone that has some basic skills in poker and is a break even or loosing player will improve to ...

Excellent work from Action Dan!
I've played poker of one kind or another for 40 years. Before the "Moneymaker Cascade Event" that propelled tournament poker into the mainstream, I was playing tournaments...and doing well. Got the previous 3 volume series by Dan and immediately improved my tournament results. My cash rate from 2004 to current is 31%. That's up from the 20% I THOUGHT was pretty good! I credit Dan's books for a ...

Pocket book for the supermarket
This purse-size book is indespensible! It lists total carbs, fiber, net carbs, protein, fat, and calories to help you make the best choices, or even endulge a little while knowing how much you are doing so! My copy is dog-eared and I carry it everywhere with me. When I think I might want something (like grapes, for example), I can look them up in the booklet right there in the supermarket ...

Scintilating, brilliant. The new age explained
Anderson's TV appearance on Charlie Rose induced me to read his Wired column which interested me in his book; all part of the long tail of information and connectivity in this new Internet age. Mixing an equal blend of statistics, charts and commentary, Anderson uses Amazon, eBay, Craigslist, Netflix and other new age entities in describing the revolution in the buyers' entertainment options and ...

This book is perfect for the novice. It guides you to the key components for MS Access without all the "techie" language. It also points out informative tips and clues to improve your database. Valuable Resource
I bought this version of 501 French Verbs to replace a 25-year-old copy I had used in high school. This new version goes far beyond simply being a dictionary of conjugated French verbs. The authors identify/highlight the 55 essential verbs you need in your vocabulary and inserted additional examples of idioms that use these key words. Exercises in the front section of the book and on the CD ...
