Easy to Use and Extremely Effective
My 10 year old daughter has been experiencing some situational anxiety. She and I began using this workbook together to help her feel more relaxed and in control. At first, she was very skeptical, but we began using the Relaxing through Guided Imagery activities. Within a few nights, she was no longer experiencing the anxiety attacks that prevented her from falling asleep. She now asks for ...

Transitions: Making Sense of Life's Changes, Revised 25th Anniversary Edition43 reviews

DaCapo, 2004

A book to share with others
I have read this book several times and I am amazed how neither the text or the power of Bridge's insights lose their meaning. In fact, I have purchased multiple copies of the book and keep them handy to give to friends who are going through difficult times in their lives. I find comfort in the deeper meaning of the work. How transitions sometimes occur with or without our knowledge or ...

The Transition Handbook: From Oil Dependency to Local Resilience (Transition Guides)10 reviews

CHELSEA GREEN PUBL CO, 2008

Loved it !
I really loved this book, it was an eye opener for me in regards to the Peak Oil and Climate Change problems we face. The infomation was fascinating to read and kept me hooked throughout, the only criticism is I hoped for more answers to deal personally with this problem. Instead the second section was more about how to get local government involved to deal with these issues. Although this is ...

The Ghost King: Transitions, Book III74 reviews

Wizards of the Coast, 2009

Not his best work
I gave it three stars because Salvatore's "worst" is still pretty decent by most people's standards. That being said, I found the story to be unnecessarily convoluted and the reactions of a lot of the characters "out of character". I have stopped caring about Dizzt's preachy intros to every chapter. Now I just skip them. I recommend you do as well...he isnt saying anything you havnt already ...

Managing Transitions2 reviews

Da Capo Press, 2009

Great read on helping others and yourself make the most of change
The only other review rated the book at 1 star. Wow, did that confuse me until I discovered that the beef was with the vendor and had nothing to do with the book. This book is very helpful. I read it about four months after the launch of a major change at work. Initailly, I wished that I had read it sooner, but then I realized that the pain I had experienced without the knowledge from the author ...

Souls in Transition: The Religious and Spiritual Lives of Emerging Adults6 reviews

Oxford University Press, USA, 2009

Foundational Piece
This is absolutely a seminal piece for those interested in adolescent development, the transition to adulthood, and/or religion. Coaching Agile Teams: A Companion for ScrumMasters, Agile Coaches, and Project Managers in Transition ...3 reviews
Lyssa Adkins

Addison-Wesley Professional, 2010

Great book that teaches how to think like a coach
Coaching of all forms--whether of kids playing basketball or software professionals learning to ScrumMasters or other agile leaders--is difficult. The advice given often boils down to "here's how I do it..." or "you should always do..." The first style of advice fails because the coach's personal style may differ dramatically from the apprentice's style. Techniques that appear honest and sincere ...

Thank you, Penelope, for this beautifully written book. I appreciate the ongoing awakening of our times. What a gift the animals provide, if we so choose to embrace their teachings.

Transition37 reviews

Orbit, 2009

Insidiously exquisite, ultimately essential
I've always loved Iain M. Banks' science fiction novels, especially his "Culture" books with their huge sentient spaceships and breathtaking worlds. The Player of Games is a particular favourite. And Ive also enjoyed what I think of as his various experiments: The Algebraist, and Matter. This isn't a "Culture" book. There are worlds - or at least a multiverse - but no spaceships. Bits of it ...

Excellent resource for teachers
My current center has this book for staff to use in the library and I loved it so much I ordered one for myself. It has a wide range of early childhood themes and includes planning webs for some ideas of how you can extend the theme and ideas for planting the theme into centers. It has some cute art/small group activities and songs/finger plays, but some topics have more than others or they may ...
