A great addition to our guitar learning library
I've been self-learning guitar for about 6 weeks now. I have two DVDs, three 'learn guitar' books a couple of sheet music books and a chord poster. This booklet on chords is a great addition to my mini library on this topic. When I go to practice chords now, this is the one I put on top to practice from. I like the way the author grouped the chords and his hints and tips about what chords go ...

buyer beware
This is a difficult and complete book of exercises. If you aspire to professional level piano ability but haven't studied much yet, forget this one. It is written for pros. It will take a lot of study to master it. But it's so complete, it's worth the tiny price. Highly recommended.

This book is really good for novice pianists
This book is really useful and covers most basic hand positions, chords, and fingering techniques and features dozens of songs that seem difficult to play, but with the techniques you learn, will grow easy like the Entertainer and He's Got the Whole World in his Hands. Again, this book lets you familiarize yourself with the notes nad fingering techniques to help build up to more advanced material ...

I PASSED!!
Very easy study guide to use--great format and informative. I found it explained some concepts better than grad school! It was the only guide I used to study, read it cover-to-cover and I passed the NCE with flying colors!! Beware, however, there is no information on "program developement" in the book and you WILL see this on the NCE!

Great Book! Easy to read. Easy to learn!
I bought this book not knowing hardly anything about guitars and simply had a hand-me-down guitar and wanted to learn how to play. This book is awesome is that it details everything you need to know. Has all the basics you need. It was very easy to understand and very easy to read. The cd that it comes with is great to play along with. Highly recommended for any beginner.

Very interesting and helpful
I would consider myself an advanced beginner at this point, having messed 'round a bit with the guitar and mandolin over the years. My dad bought me an ukulele when we were in Hawaii, and I have found it much easier to play than the guitar. I already have a pretty good understanding of music theory, having played the piano for about 40 years, and this book is very helpful translating the ...

Lots of info
I'd consider myself an advanced beginner, been playing about three years and I've barely cracked the spine..but it has already proven to be a useful resource. There's some stuff I think I know and the format makes it easy to skip over those parts...and I'm learning lots of new things. Not sure how useful it would be for a more advanced player...but I'm very happy with the purchase.

No hands down this is the book to get if you want to further your jazz piano chops. This was the book my jazz piano professor told me to purchase and we used as one of the textbooks for my Functional Jazz piano course. All of my piano colleages own the book also. It is more for the intermediate to advance jazz piano player ready to work and labor hard and think. If your are a beginner it is good ...
