Amazing graphics, imaginative rhymes, compelling overall --
-- And it's a "kids book"!!! I'm 26 now, but I remember the astonishment and awe I first felt borrowing this book from my 5th grade class's "library" when I was 10 years old. Back then, I gave up after 4 hours of not being able to figure anything at all out and had to look in the Sooper Sikret Section, but this time around, I got a few more of the clues on my own before having to look up the ...

AFTERPARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Al-Saadiq brings it again...........another 5 star read! He is one helluva writer. 6 part series.....this is definitely "classic urban lit". I always said I would never re-read any book, but after reading his books, I changed my mind, this is one author that I will gladly re-read and keep every one of his books. Al-Saadiq...if you are reading this.....keep bringing it!!!!

Great fun to read
A good picture book to read to a 9-month old who doesn't want to sit still is hard to find, but this book is fantastic. The book just reads so fluently like you can't keep up with turning the pages!! Both the words and the pictures are so lively, bright and fun ... it totally absorbs you into the dinosaur stomp:-)

Beautiful Artwork
This book has some of the most beautiful artwork you will ever see in a children's book. My 17 month old took a few tries to warm up to the story, and it still isn't a favorite of hers. A lot of times we will just sit and look at the pretty pictures.

Wonderful introduction to Redwall!
I bought this book because my oldest son (5 years old) saw a part of the Redwall series on PBS. He loved it but the book series is too old for him yet. This book is a great introduction! The pictures are gorgeous and the language and imagery are exquisite. I highly recommend this book and I hope there will be more like it!

Finally, a ray of hope and enlightenment for U.S.politics
Bob Roth has done us all a great service with his highly readable, timely book that offers us a vision of a simple, practical way out of political gridlock and incoherence and into a more harmonious age. The new millennium is upon us. It is time we thought in new millennium terms, not in an obsolete paradigm that is bringing us down. Bravo for this book and the courage and promise it holds.

Fantastic Book for Girls
I had never heard of the Fancy Nancy series until my daughter was given this as a gift. I love it, and both my daughters love it (ages 5 and 2). There are only a few sentences on each page but they are filled with [...] words, like "exquisite," "thrilled," "scowl," "ecstatic" and many others. Plus it gives a little French lesson ("Oui" and "Bonjour"). I highly recommend this book!

Fortunately
THis is a classic! I read it as a kid and now love reading it to my kids. I always keep multiple copies on hand and give them as gifts to 4 and 5 year olds. But many other ages will love it too.

Destined to be a Classic
What a heartwarming story with such vivid and friendly illustrations. The rhythm is wonderful and the rhymes aren't forced. The story flows and gives the reader ample opportunity to try out different voices for all of bear's friends.

A Must Read!
Block Party by Al- Saadiq Banks is a fast-paced, entertaining read. It grabs you from the first page and keeps you entertained until the very end. The characters are real, the setting is true and the message is clear. As an author myself, I am most impressed with what Al- Saadiq Banks has to offer. This is exciting urban fiction!

Very Sweet Monster Friend Story!
Bella is messy and Boris is neat. They have trouble with friends because of their obsessions. So when push comes to shove over a party, what do you think will happen? This is a very nice story and a joy to read. A fine Halloween story, kids really enjoy.

A very loquacious first grader with a vocabulary far beyond her age
After more than 25 books, Barbara Park's series about a very loquacious first grader with a vocabulary far beyond her age (and the writing ability to go with it) is still going strong. So I suspended my disbelief and read JUNIE B., FIRST GRADER: DUMB BUNNY to my six-year-old. In this adventure, the rich girl in class, Lucille, invites everyone over to her mansion to participate in an ...

The story is very cleverly written, nicey intergrated with the artwork. Good message to kids and adults on kindness to animals. Fresh illustrations and original layouts, great use of color. Excellent Story - Excellent Teaching Aide for Fire Safety
I have been a professional fire fighter for more than twenty years. I thoroughly enjoy reading this book to my kids and to school children whenever I have the chance. The book covers important fire safety topics but folds the safety curriculum into a wonderful story. I have read this story aloud a hundred times and it has always been a wonderful experience. -- If I could, I would place a copy of ...

Great Author
A few years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Pam Munoz Ryan at a Summer Arts Children's Storytelling Forum held at California State University - Fresno. She read the book to parents, teachers, and students who attended the conference. I was amazed on the writing, culture, and illustrations that she used for this book. The novel serves as a tale of her childhood spending time with her family ...

There are a number of things I like about this book: * The checklist of preparations that tell you when to do what. * It is a very attractive book with a user-friendly format. * The color section is great. It is always nice to know what a recipe should look like when it is prepared. * The tips for successful hosting and mistakes to avoid are really helpful whether you are a new cook, ...

Best book I've read to my 4 year olds
Can't think of enough accolades for this one. The text is funny for both kids and adults and the pictures really convey the movement of the words. Lots of funky animals thrown in (including the capybara waiters), all of them having a great time ("The apes play bass / A crocodile croons / With an all-girl band / Of blue baboons"). I have even read this book after my kids were asleep.

Too good, too short
I'm not going to go over the plot with you,I'm just here to tell you what I like and dislike. What I like? That's easy. Meg Cabot has once again outdone herself with this novel. Like I said, I'm not going to go over the plot, so you will have to read it or wonder for the rest of your life(okay, exaggeration). Dislikes: Just one. IT IS NINETY-SIX PAGES! I know, I know. Book 4 1/2 was fifty pages. ...

One of the best books!
This has to be one of the best books! My kids- 5 & 2- love books, we read all the time and are always at the library and bookstore. They both instantly loved this book and we read it over and over. They both get up and dance and sing right along with me. I highly recommend this for any age. I'm positive it will be on our book shelf all year and not just at Halloween!
