MORRISON'S JLA: THE BE-ALL-END-ALL OF SUPERHERO COMICS!
First off, JLA, as written by Grant Morrison, is THE superhero comic of all time. Exciting, reinvigorating, packed full of details and characterization! Ah, such characterization! And history, too! By history, I mean, JUSTICE LEAGUE history. Grant's run on JLA was a heartfelt love letter to all incarnations of the JLA, especially the Superman/Batman/Wonder Woman-led JLA. His run on this comic was ...

Action Packed Combat
Aliens invading to eat a planet, Precious few Marines, and a small army of Imperial Guard infantry with some armor is all that stands in the path of a unstoppable eating machine. I thought the characters were great and wanted to know more about almost all of them and think its a excellent series now. Excellent if you like the space smurfs.

Wonderful book of poetry
Ultramarine by Raymond Carver, a collection of his poetry, is a gem. With each of my moves I find myself discarding all of my books except for this one. This is the one I hold and keep returning to. While Carver is better known for his short stories, I think it's his poems that communicates his silent emotions. The sparse language of Raymond Carver that is so effective in his short stories is ...

MUST HAVE
Even if you are not a fan of the Ultramarines chapter, you will be amazed by the writing. Its good to see space marines showing human qualites, and not just propaganda programed soldiers. The last story is exceptionally well written, with descriptions of hell/chaos realms so vivid and disturbing they will remain with you for some time.

Ultramarine
Ultramarine is a novel about sea life. A young man named Dana Hillot decides to go aboard a freight ship. The characters in this novel are so vivid. Even now I am able to think of one, Andy the chinless wonder. This novel is one of my favorites by Lowry. Lowry spent some time at sea himself, so that probably was the inspiration for this novel.
