Wonderful and Educational
This book is such a great tool for teaching children. The chapters are a good length so not to bore the child. Most children want to continue reading and not stop. It is perfect and designed as a read aloud to young elementary age kids. I also recommend it for 6-8 graders as an independent read especially if you have not had much world history yet. Adults that did not learn much history in school ...

Great for a History Textbook
This is one of the most interesting US History books I have had to read for school. The writing flows well and makes it easier to read than most others of its kind. It avoids "listing" things like a lot of history books do (e.g. "the English did this, this, and this. The French did this, this, and this, and the Spanish colonization affected the Aztecs in this way, this way, and this way") which ...

SOTW v4
All of the Story of the World volumes have been a hit with my grade-school aged son. Volume 4 was no exception. As soon as I handed him the cds he was off to his room where he stayed for hours on end, listening to the history recordings. Who knew history studies could be so fun! These volumes are a great way to learn valuable information. My son already knows way more history than I ever ...

Great Undergrad Text
I am taking two courses of American history at my community college. This book is the one that my history professor chose for the class. It is a solid treatment of the history of the United States focused around the advancement of liberty. It does not take steps to ensure a level of detail in the major wars like the Civil War or Revolution. Instead, it directs the student's attention towards ...

WOW !
My 5 year old saw this book and begged to start homeschool early this year. She enjoys doing the coloring page in the accompanying activity book while I read her the stories. No such thing as dividing a chapter out over a whole week for her! She likes this book so well that she begs to do 2 or 3 chapters a day! I find myself condensing the activities because she narrates the reading so well and ...

Great, indepth history textbook
This book is very detailed, easy to follow and engaging, and even more importantly, by openly discussing the various viewpoints of history (uniformitarianism vs. Catastrophism) in the very beginning, it encourages analytical thinking skills and not merely fact regurgitation. This book could easily be supplemented with the following fiction books. Chapters 1-2: Journey To The Ice Chapter 3: ...

Words are not enough here
This book has been a companion of mine for over 10 years. I started with the daily lessons near the end of the book. This seemed an easier way to start to understand what the manual is trying to teach. If only we could all follow what is in these pages and truly live it we would be in a place of bliss. But in order to do that we need to let go of certain rigid concepts and at least be open to ...

Excellent Book!
This is a very comprehensive step-by-step Office 2007 instructional book. The only negative is the wire, spiral binder. It's a headache. And I understand how difficult it is to hard bind a 1300 page book. Nevertheless, for the money, it should not have such a pain-in-the-neck binder.

Don't take up space in your Kindle----
with these flawed free products. Can't really read them with any enjoyment; the poems are paragraphs, revisions in the middle, numbers in the middle; unless you are well acquainted with Wordsworth before downloading this---one would miss the beauty of his poetry. I'm gong to delete them.

A study guide for all!
Being a History major at Ursinus College where author S. Ross Doughty is a professor, I can assure any prospective buyer that this study guide is a comprehensive guide to the Spodek edition of The World's History. With this study guide, Doughty is assured to be an instructor to more students than just the ones he enlightens in his History classes. If you have Spodek, you need Doughty!
