Disney's Alice in Wonderland and Mary Blair's sumptuous art together!
Disney's Alice in Wonderland, as told through the gorgeous art work of Mary Blair, makes for one very spectacular book! Mary Blair (1911-1978) was one of Disney's most brilliant conceptual designers, who contributed in the creations of such great film classics as Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan. Mary Blair gave Disney 34 years of her gorgeous and vivid art, which will always stand ...

Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World: A Novel (Vintage International)136 reviews
Haruki Murakami

Vintage, 1993

Patience is a virtue
This book requires some patience. My friend, who usually does not enjoy reading, recommended this book to me because it is one of his favorites. However, if you stick with it, I think it's quite a rewarding book. This is the only book I've read by this author, and I can't even imagine what I might have missed by reading a translation, but the author's mind is just incredible. I've recommended ...

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland: A Pop-up Adaptation54 reviews
Lewis Carroll

Little Simon, 2003

Family Treasure
I purchased this book because of the last page. I had seen it at my Book Club and knew my grandchildren would love it. They love peaking down the rabbits hole and finding the additional pop ups on each page. A book you will definately want to pass on down the family. Truly a classic come to life.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass (Barnes & Noble Classics)3 reviews
Lewis Carroll

Barnes & Noble Classics, 2003

"Curiouser and curiouser!"
My first exposure to Lewis Carroll's classic children's story was through the 1951 Disney film adaptation "Alice in Wonderland," which I watched repeatedly as a child. The creative quality of the story never failed to fascinate me, and I kept going back despite my deep-rooted terror of the frightful Queen of Hearts, who always gave me nightmares! However, it was not until recently, as an adult, ...

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass (Penguin Classics)5 reviews
Lewis Carroll

Penguin Classics, 2003

pay no attention to the fool below me
I was shocked when i saw that the Alice books got 3 stars. these are literary classics , the two most complicated "children books" with many levels of interpretation. I know people have different tastes but this deserved an overall score of at least four.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass86 reviews

Bantam Classics, 2006

As Wonderful a Tale as has Ever Been Told
I couldn't put it down, man. I checked this book out at the local library and read through the opening 130 pages in one sitting until I was falling asleep at three in the morning. Lewis Carroll's classic tale of adventure and fantasy "Alice in Wonderland" is one of the best books I've ever read. The story is about a little girl, Alice, who falls into a very deep rabbit hole, seemingly straight to ...

Alice In Wonderland - Special Book
I was truly pleasingly surprised when I received this book. It was much more than I expected for the price I paid. It is definitely a book I will pass down to my children.

This is a book I loved as a child and when I read it now, I find I still enjoy it as much. Great for children and for grown ups as well. Well worth buying.

Alice in Wonderland and the World Trade Center Disaster74 reviews
David Icke

David Icke Books, 2002

Remember - PROBLEM - REACTION - SOLUTION
Two quotes to ponder, `Sit down before facts like a child, and be prepared to give up every preconceived notion, follow humbly wherever and to whatever abysses Nature leads, or you shall learn nothing.'(Thomas Huxley) & 'Only the wise possess ideas; the greater part of mankind are possessed by them.'(Samuel Taylor Coleridge). - 911 was an inside job. The American People were manipulated ...

Seeing Redd (The Looking Glass Wars)19 reviews
Frank Beddor

Dial, 2007

Second in a fabulous fantasy series
Seeing Redd is the second book in the Looking Glass Wars trilogy by Frank Beddor. Often the middle book of a trilogy is just filler between the introduction of the characters in the first book and the final conclusion of the third. This book is not filler. Beddor takes the world he introduced us to in the The Looking Glass Wars and adds levels of complexity. We see outside of the borders of ...

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Unabridged Classics)3 reviews
Lewis Carroll

Sterling, 2005

Great
The book was great reading-it contained the entire story. The pictures were accurate representations of what was described by the author. The hard cover and the ribboned book mark make the book a great buy that will last for a very long time. Amazon sent it to my address on the day that they promised to, they also let me know when it was on its way and when it was delivered.

Alice In Sunderland7 reviews
Bryan Talbot

Dark Horse, 2007

Reality is not enough; we need nonsense, too
I didn't really know what to expect from _Alice in Sunderland_; the reviews on Amazon piqued my interest, so I dove in. I had assumed it was a re-telling of Carroll's _Alice in Wonderland_, but I was willing to take a chance. I don't regret the gamble, although the book itself is about Carroll's classic only in the story *behind* the story. The graphic novel is really about Sunderland itself ...

Perfect!
As a child of gay parents, I wish I had this book when I was growing up in the 70's. !!! It is perfect! Thanks soooo Much! Hopefully, we'll soon be able to embrace love and do away with our violence praising culture....

Walt Disney's Alice in Wonderland2 reviews
Teddy Slater

Disney Press, 2006

So Exciting Book!!!
I think this book is great! The illustration is well based on movie. I like like the part when Alice was playing Croquet with the Queen of Hearts, and when Alice was drinking "Drink Me" bottle. When Alice was eating "Eat Me" cookies. Also I like the part when Alice fell down in the Rabit hole. I think this book is great and you should read this book about a girl in Wonderland!!!

Princess Alyss of Wonderland11 reviews
Frank Beddor

Dial, 2007

Will delight most little girls as well as give them a glimpse into life in mid-1800s Britain
As if the original, colorful tale of ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND and its sequel --- or the countless film and theater adaptations of it --- weren't enough to delight anyone old or young enough to read or be read to, "historian emeritus Agnes MacKenzie" has found the journal of the real little girl who inspired Lewis Carroll's classic. Read, in Alyss's own words, how one birthday went ...

An unabridged audiobook production of Lewis Carroll's classic children's storybook
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is an unabridged audiobook production of Lewis Carroll's classic children's storybook of a young girl lost in a magical land of fantasy. Read aloud by Grammy and Audie Award-winning performer Jim Dale, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a delightful performance that adroitly captures this whimsical spirit of the story. Highly recommended as a giftbook to ...

Heather Has Two Mommies: 10th Anniversary Edition (Alyson Wonderland)35 reviews
Leslea Newman

Alyson Books, 2000

Two Mommies
It is a good book. It would be nice if it had colours and was not only black and white but still one should definitely buy it. It is important to grow our children whether the parents are gay or not with the open mind that one needs to be a human being.
