Rick Darke

Timber Press, Incorporated, 2002

Beautiful, beautiful book
Whether you are planning a woodland garden, look out on a woodland garden, or just dream of woodland gardens, this book is a must have. It is the most beautiful, awe-inspiring garden book I've ever encountered. The photos are the first layer of beauty. The descriptions of the plants are the second layer of beauty. The suggested arrangements of trees, shrubs and flowers are the third layer ...

When Mom and Dad Separate: Children Can Learn to Cope with Grief from Divorce3 reviews
Marge Heegaard

Woodland Press, 1996

useful tool
I found this book extremely helpful in my therapy work with children whose parents are divorcing. The art therapy format was especially helpful for my nonverbal kids. The book nicely addresses many issues that may arise for children in a nonthreatening manner. Most of all, it did a good job of explaining "divorce", a very grown-up concept, in kid terms.

O.K. What I absolutely feel compelled to share with you is this: RUN (don't walk!) to the closest website or bookstore and buy yourself a copy of "The Ultimate Healing System" by Donald Lepore, N.D. Well done!
This book has become one of my favorite kitchen books. Throughout it thinks of the reader, beginning with being spiral bound. When Someone Very Special Dies: Children Can Learn to Cope with Grief4 reviews
Marge Heegaard

Woodland Press, 1988

One Of the very best books available on such a delicate topic
I researched for many days every book avalable on this subject, as my husband left me a young widow at 26, dying very suddenly and tragically of a brain annuerisym in the middle of the night, beside me in the car - two weeks before Thanksgiving. Although I am cursed that I have not been left with our own child, he did leave behind several nieces and nephews profoundly attached to him; he was the ...

When Someone Has a Very Serious Illness: Children Can Learn to Cope with Loss and Change1 review
Marge Heegaard

Woodland Press, 1992

A Good Guide
This is a good supplement, especially when working with children and adolescents. It works well with younger children, and can be adapted for adolescents. It gives the child a different way to learn and communicate the changes they are experiencing, and as a therapist I've been able to build on that to better assist my clients. I have several of the Heegaard books and i've found all of them ...

Little Herb Encyclopedia: The Handbook of Nature's Remedies for a Healthier Life11 reviews
Jack Ritchason

Woodland Publishing, 1994

WONDERFUL REFERENCE OF INDIVIDUAL HERBS
This book is absolutely the best one I have seen when it comes to being thorough for the different uses of each herb. It has listings of primary and secondary conditions affected by the herbs, after a write up of usually close to a page on each one. In the write up it elaborates on many of the uses, and often gives historical uses. I find it a vital reference guide and refer to it VERY ...

Noni: Nature's Amazing Healer9 reviews
Neil Solomon

Woodland Publishing, 1999

A good book, great source of information
It is interesting that all those who liked this book gave their name to their comment, while the one who says noni did not help him/her is just "a reader". We don't know which noni juice and how much of the juice he/she was taking, so to me this comment does not mean anything, it is a pity that he/she was not informed well enough to know how and for how long time to take it. Maybe if he/she had ...

The Tallgrass Restoration Handbook: For Prairies, Savannas, and Woodlands (The Science and Practice of ...5 reviews

Island Press, 2005

The prairie restoration and management bible.
As a prairie biologist, I refer to this seminal volume frequently. It is the very best compendium of prairie restoration and management information. Anyone who has been taken by the ecological romance of the tallgrass prairie, and hopes either to know in detail the ecology of these biomes, or to plant or manage one, needs to have this in the personal library. It's mostly technical, but ...

The Parasite Menace4 reviews
Skye Weintraub

Woodland Publishing, 1998

Must reading for the health-conscious
Dr. Weintraub does an excellent job in discussing, in layman's terms, the diseases caused by parasites, as well as their prevention and treatment. Although not publicized, most people in the world have at least one parasite, either of the worm or microscopic variety, and it is much more prevalent in the US than most people realize. Included are numerous statistics on incidences of parasite ...

Black & Decker Complete Guide to Contemporary Sheds: Complete plans for 12 Sheds, Including Garden ...
Philip Schmidt

Creative Publishing international, 2008

A modern guide to classic outdoor structures. Sheds and other landscape shelters have never been out of style, but they are now seeing a remarkable surge in popularity, and are being used in creative new ways. The common garden shed is now just as likely to serve as a workshop for an artist to pursue his or her hobby; or may be used as a writerĘs retreat; or may even be equipped with a satellite dish, high definition television, recliners, and ...

Natural Healing With Cell Salts5 reviews
Skye Weintraub

Woodland Publishing, 1996

The Most Dog-Eared Book in my Medical Library
I have a busy naturopathic medical practice in Seattle, and this book is invaluable to me. Cell salts are so non-toxic that I feel comfortable using them with all my patients, even those who are on multiple prescription medications. They are safe for children, inexpensive and useful for both acute and chronic conditions. I highly recommend this book for practitioners and lay people alike; it's ...

Hans W. Morsbach

Handbook for the new forester and a delight for anyone else
This is a book for anyone who likes to read about someone's interesting life or observations, for anyone who likes to get a glimpse of a good man's mind and heart, for anyone who enjoys seeing things in a new way, and--of course--for anyone who owns or may buy wooded property. For the latter, it is an indispensable guide. For the rest of us, it is both delightful reading and ...
