1001 Most Useful Spanish Words (Beginners' Guides)
Fantastic Book for the Price
Folks, this book is $2 (less if you buy it used). Honestly, it would a great book for triple the price. I find it very useful for learning how to use the word in the context of a sentence, something that can be put into practice immediately. Staring at grammar rules and vocabulary lists doesn't work for me. I have to use the language for it to "click." If you learn like this, this is the ...
Sam Walton's Way
FT Press, 2010
A little history, a lot of business insights
Wal-Mart is such a big part of our lives. I live in a small town where it not only offers products that we normally wouldn't have access to, but valuable career opportunities. Sam Walton's Way is a quick, easy read; perfect for a quiet lunch break. New Word City does a great job of effectively combining the story of how Sam Walton created Wal-Mart with all the valuable business lessons he ...

The Greatest Words Ever Spoken: Everything Jesus Said about You, Your Life, and Everything Else

Atria Books/Beyond Words
For my daughter.
Purchased this for my daughter who seems at times to have low self-esteem. I can only tell you what she says about the book. She has enjoyed what she has read so far.
The Referral Engine: Teaching Your Business to Market Itself
How to create a high-return marketing strategy
For most businesses the best source of new customers is word-of-mouth referrals from existing satisfied customers, but few business managers take active steps to build on those referrals. John Jantsch sets out to provide a remedy in this book. He outlines a range of steps which almost any business can take to obtain a significantly increased number of referrals. A referral system needs to ...
Margaret Wise Brown
From 1 star to 5 stars.
Upon receiving this book I initially wrote a bad review of it, as the illustrations have a lot to be desired, but after reading it to my son I think it's only fair that I change my feedback. My son just adores this book, and since this book is for him and not me I know he'd give it rave reviews.
Bob Books Set 3- Word Families
Bobby Lynn Maslen
Mommy loves them, kids not so much
It must be my fault. I love these books, having gotten all the sets as gifts when my twins were 2. They're now 5, and they recognize letters, phonics, sounds and rhymes. We read to them every night, and they are voracious about books. But when I try to get through these, it's a buzz kill for them. There are other books for beginning readers that they will tolerate, especially those that take ...
Words Their Way: Word Study for Phonics, Vocabulary, and Spelling Instruction (4th Edition)
Donald R. Bear
Great book for teaching students and beginning teachers
Bought this for a class and didn't really use it, however another teachers suggested it and we've been using it a lot. Has a lot of things I didn't learn in elementary school and I've already learned some new spelling rules.
It is great to have kids read and really great to have a place to go to find excellent books - Amazon.
Baby Animals Black and White: Black and White
Phyllis Limbacher Tildes
In this delightful little book, the artist depicts eight baby animal faces--a panda cub, seal pup, bunny, zebra foal, kitten, puppy, calf and lamb. Each is done in striking black and white, making it easy for a baby to see, and each image delights. The panda cub gives a bashful smile, the calf a gentle gaze, and the cat a cute smile. At the end, a young child is shown giggling happily as he ...
Aspire: Discovering Your Purpose Through the Power of Words
Moved to Action
This is a book that moved me to action. Often I read books like this and I am motivated or inspired but don't do anything about it. This book caused me to really make some changes in how I treat others and myself. I think it is a must read for anyone who seeks to better their life and the lives of others.

Bob Books Set 4 - Complex Words
Bobby Lynn Maslen
As a 1st grade teacher, these books are indispensable for my emerging readers who still need a short, quickie book that allows them to focus their skills on basic decoding and sight words. The pictures are a delight and the kids feel very comfortable with these. Great way to guide kids into more difficult words.
The Quiet Book
Houghton Mifflin Books for Children
There are all types of quiet--happy quiet, sad quiet, fun quiet and uh-oh quiet. Deborah Underwood captures them with her sweet text and Renata Liwska brings them to life with soft (quiet) illustrations. This book doesn't yell and roar. It grabs you instead with its softness, making you think and smile. A very good thing to do with a little one you love. This is a book I love to read again and ...

The Official Scrabble Players Dictionary
We play Scrabble often. Our kind of Scrabble allows players to look up words before playing them. We have been playing like this for years and love it. This book is wonderful. Besides being able to play more interesting words, we are learning more words through the use of this book. Actually, we have three of them.
Wordcatcher: An Odyssey into the World of Weird and Wonderful Words
Cousineau, Phil. "Wordcatcher", Viva Editions, 2010. Ever Wonder? Amos Lassen Have you ever wondered where a word came from and how it became part of our language? Sometimes a dictionary just doesn't tell us all that we want to know about a word and Phil Cousineau shares his love for words with us.
