You do not have to have a battery charger for the camera since you can put the battery on the camera and plug it into charge. Everything is as promised however just a note that everything will be of a generic brand except for the Canon Bag. The tripod is a bit short. I could of returned it but there was a 10% restocking fee plus whatever it would be out of my pocket to send it back so i just kept the kit.

Good bag, okay tripod
The bag is great, albeit a little bigger than I expected. It fits the Digital Rebel XTi camera easily with extra room for lenses, batteries, etc. The tripod works pretty well, but definitely needs help with stability. I would recommend sand bag weights or a remote control if you want to avoid blurry shots.
