Motivated
I really enjoy all the ABT music therapy disks. The music is selected based on the number of beats per minute and our bodies fall into sync with that beat. Ideally this will result in Motivation (your own motivation). I put this on while working and don't really realize that the music is on, so I'm not really listening to it. But when I play the music, I seem to stay on-task better and seem ...

Horowitz: A Digital Legacy
This set includes all of the recordings Vladimir Horowitz did for Deutsche Grammophon in the 1980s, including his historical concert in Moscow. While the context of his return in Moscow is moving, the studio recordings are simply wonderful. The sound quality is impeccable. The Steinway piano sounds warm but yet crisp and sharp. Horowitz still has plenty of power, and if you don't have a good ...

Excellent Compilation and Good Value
While 25 Thunderous Classics gives only a brief overview of various pieces of music one could consider 'thunderous,' it is an excellent value and introduction to the style of music. Many of the songs are instantly recognizable, and this is good for someone who may only dabble or be new to classical music. Really, I think the only downside is that it only plays the 'thunderous' part of the song ...

Heard this with NEW appreication.........
This is such a wonderful mix. I especially love the Haydn concerto finale in E flat. I was listening to this cd when my grandson (almost 3) heard the glorious music of the trumpet for the first time. He loved seeing the photos of Mr. Marsalis (which I embellished, albeit true, saying how difficult it is to play the trumpet - hence the need for a handerchief to wipe his brow in one of the photos). ...

It all started with Beethoven
Many years ago I purchased my first CD in this series, "Beethoven Lives Upstairs." My children and I were delighted with it. I then discovered that there were more and searched them all out, one by one. My children, now 11, 9 & 5, have listened to these stories as they fall asleep for years. They each have a favorite composer and have gone on to learn more about them. These stories are a great ...

Perfect present--now and for times to come
My "grandmother friends" have been raving about Baby Einstein products for years. When I gifted my nieces with this classical collection, I got very good reactions. These cds are well produced, and studies have shown the positive long-term effects of exposure to classical music. Babies will be soothed, parents might get a bit more rest, and somewhere in the sub-conscious, an appreciation of ...

PERFECT!
What a great CD! Completely takes the work out of putting together your own ceremony CD. We aren't having live musicians play so this suits our needs perfectly! The CD booklet tells you when each song would be appropriate (precessional, recessional, interludes, etc.)and everything! The music is your classic wedding music, nothing funky. I believe ALL the songs are instrumentals.

Phenomenal Collection of Music
Pachelbel's Canon in D is always good but the rest of the tracks shine as well. This is a superb collection of classical music. If you're new to classical music and love strings, purchase this CD. You'll be glad that you did.

Ecstatically Recommended!
This does NOT sound like a jazz musician's take on classical music. Rather, it sounds like (and is) a classically-trained musician playing Baroque music with all the embellishments associated with Baroque style in what feels like as close a way as we can get to the original (according to musicologists) without having actually heard how it was played centuries ago. That Wynton Marsalis can do this ...

Mind blowing Machaut!
Last year I did my Masters' dissertation on Mediaeval Scholasticism and discovered this CD at about the same time. I played it softly on my CD player as I walked the 'via dolorosa'. The CD helped me do very well because I feel it has a unique Mediaeval/Renaissance crossover feel that enabled me to internalise what these people were thinking. The plain lines of Gregorian Chant have been ...

awesome value -- 5+ stars
I'm really enthusiastic about these CDs and booklet. I've had it for a few weeks now, in which I've explored Medieval and Renaissance music much more deeply than this little book and CD set. Yet I'm very glad I started with these. The selection of composers gives an excellent, broad sweep across several centuries. But the booklet contains one of the most informative essays I've found about ...

Soul Stirring, Deeply Moving Music
I come to this review with great heart-felt enthusiasm to nudge you a little to purchase this Stirring Album to feed your inner soul that is hungering for deeply moving music for trumpet and organ. I purchased this album years ago, now, but do, in truth, come back to it very often for the soul stirring that only the trumpet can give you. While I (and probably many) normally do not think about ...

Best classical guitar music ever
After hearing a selection from this CD on NPR, I knew I had to purchase a copy. I bought a copy for myself and also as a gift. David Russell takes his guitar to a place that touches your soul and makes your heart sing along. Even if you are not a fan of classical music you will love this CD.

Amazing!
I thouroughly enjoy this CD! The music is beautiful enough to listen to all by itself, but also quiet and peaceful enough to listen to while studying for exams or doing homework. Mad about Baroque has been in my discman for many weeks and accompanied to the library many times. This is a great CD!

Kunzel A Consistent Winner
I have yet to find anything that Kunzel does on CD that lacks imagination and quality. His renditions are excellent. Mastering quality is outstanding - leading to a most excellent product on just about any stereo system. I would have to say that "Kunzel" on the label is equal to the quality you would expect from RCA "Red Seal" products.

A very nice sampler
This is a very nice collection of tracks, that fit together very well as a whole listening experience. Other compilations might have great work, but the difference in recording, styles of music and performance vary so well it doesn't work. This sounds as if it were made to be a complete album. Very good. Unbeatable for the price.
