Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy41 reviews
Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Arnie Roth, ...

AWR Records, 2007

A Pleasant Collection
First and foremost I am a fan of the Final Fantasy series. I was interested when I purchased my first Final Fantasy game. (Final Fantasy XI). Although I have not played the past generation Final Fantasies, I bet playing through them will be an exquisite experience. Now onto the Distant Worlds CD. I have to say, I am very impressed with the quality, though not as good as going to the real ...

Closer600 reviews
Josh Groban

Reprise / Wea, 2003

AMAZING!!!
I became a Josh Groban fan after I saw him in concert for his first album. When his follow-up album, Closer, came out, I rushed to go buy it. Overall, Closer is an amazing album. This album totally exceeded my expectations of him and his music. He is unlike any singer in this world. Josh Groban just keeps on improving even when we fans may think he reached his limit. All the music on this album ...

Great Music
The music on this album is very well done. Amazon's description was sketchy and after receiving the album I realized I already owned it. Fortunately I have friends that would appreciate it so it will make a wonderful gift.

Essential Guitar: 34 Guitar Masterpieces

Decca, 2002

Great
I got this for my mom whose family were from Spain a few generations back. She went last fall and loved it. I heard about the album as a premium on my local Public radio. I had already done my pledge so I got this here. My mom loves it and I liked it so much I burned a copy for myself too. It arrived on time and in perfect condition.

like it
I play this every night to put my son to sleep. I hear music is supposed to be good brain development for math and being a math teacher I figured I try it. Playing this music seems to relax my son and puts him to sleep. It even puts my husband to sleep...

Debussy: Clair de lune & Other Piano Favourites18 reviews
Claude Debussy, Francois-Joël Thiollier

Naxos, 2004

Heavenly music
If you like lovely piano music, you will LOVE this. Great dinner music. And Clair de lune is the missing song from the Twilight soundtrack. Greatly missed. That is why I bought this, and the whole album is fantastic.

Andrea Bocelli

Philips, 1997

Fabulous!
He is one of the "great voices" of our modern era, and this romantic album is superbly representative of his emotional genius in singing. Anna Marie Fritz, author of "Funny Feline Fotos" and other Amazon.com books.

Lullabies for the young and young at heart
Purchased the CD from Amazon.com when my daughter asked me to find some soothing music to help her first child relax and fall to sleep. They have and are still enjoying the CD very often.

25 Beethoven Favorites13 reviews
Ludwig van Beethoven, Anton Nanut, ...

Vox (Classical), 1996

Nice cd
I ordered this CD for my brother who is now taking piano lessons. The compositions aren't full length but they are good enough for a newcomer to get a feel for some Beethoven. I would recommend this CD to others.

Beethoven's Wig: Sing Along Symphonies93 reviews
Beethoven's Wig

Rounder / Umgd, 2002

The entire family loves this CD
From 4 years old to 40 years old, each of us enjoys Beethoven's Wig. We have #1 and #2 and I could not tell you which the kids enjoy more - but I do have a slight preference for #1. I'm online now getting ready to purchase #3 and #4 will be for Christmas. I'm also buying #1 for a baby shower gift. My friend is not particularly "into" classical music but she laughed a good bit listening to our ...

Gershwin: Rhapsody In Blue/An American In Paris21 reviews
George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein, ...

Sony, 1990

Rhapsody in blue
I first heard Leonard Bernstein's version of Rahpsody in Blue in the early 1960s, on a 7" vinyl record. It has remained my favourite ever since. This digital issue on a CD is excellent. Nothing has been lost in the transition from analogue to digital recording, and it is every bit as enjoyable now as it was when I first heard it forty-five years ago.

Martin: Golgotha1 review
Martin, Daniel Reuss, ...

Harmonia Mundi, 2010

Martin's GOLGOTHA
Frank Martin is not exactly a household name in America, but he is a fine composer who needs to be heard more. His GOLGOTHA, a telling of the story of the suffering of Christ, is a superb work, and this recording is beautifully recorded. D. Reuss, the conductor, is fully into the idiom, and there are many very touching moments in this per-formance. It's one I will be looking forward to ...

At the Movies20 reviews
Andre Rieu

Denon Records, 2004

Movie Themes with a Classical Twist
What's not to like about a good song from a good movie? All the classic movie themes (i.e., Titanic, Zorba the Greek, etc.) are here but played by a full orchestra. I considered this approach to modern music a true and distinct pleasure and a nice break from the classical music that Andre Rieu's orchestra normally presents. The music is uplifting and makes you want to break out in song or get ...

25 Thunderous Classics14 reviews
Richard [1] Strauss, Gustav Holst, ...

Vox (Classical), 2000

This thing kills!
OK, this is not a great musical experience, but a hodgepodge of the loud, vigorous and stirring parts. For what it is, and purports to be, it deserves 5 stars. If nothing else, it has the best cannon fusillade of any 1812 overture I have heard. It also includes some of the best versions ever of several compositions, such as Kunzel's rendition of the Fucik favorite, Entry of the Gladiators. ...

Hildegard Rutgers, Johann Sebastian Bach, ...

Vox (Classical), 1996

Bach
Surely you don't need me to review the guy. You know who he is, you've heard his music, and I hope you own some. So let me turn the podium over to a cat named Picasso, and you can read into that whatever you wish. She's in a chair, near the CD player. She has entered the room specifically for the music. Her eyes are squinted, almost but not quite shut, little face concentrating on just how ...

Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, ...

Sony, 1997

Wonderful collection of Aaron Copland Hits!
Wonderful collection of Aaron Copland Hits! If a classical genius ever had a hit....like Britany. Luckily for us though. No Britany, Aaron yes! Very well done passages, Fanfare for the Common this NYS composers signature and a piece that has stuck with me since my college radio days 35 years ago! Eugene Ormandy, Leonard Bernstein and Louis Lane conducting these masterpieces, I had to have three ...

Romance of the Violin77 reviews
Joshua Bell, Giacomo Puccini, ...

Sony, 2003

A beautiful CD by a gifted artist
Joshua Bell is one of the top violinists today and this collection of classical works by various composers was meant to capture the beauty and romance of his instrument. Every piece on this CD is expertly played and interpreted by a master of his instrument with an intimate knowledge of why some passages linger for many concert goers more than a complete work. This recording is a beautiful, ...
