High performance and cheap
I do not understand actual throughput. However, the speed of the Internet download is the same as the cable connection. Moreover, it is the same performance in living room and the bedroom. If you wont wireless adaptor, I recommend this wireless adaper.

This is a great modem. I used it with Red Hat Linux 8 & 9, Mandrake linux 7.0 & 8.1, MSDOS 6.2, PC DOS 2000 and Dr Dos 7.03 and never had any problems with it. It came with software but I never used it. I was also surprised at how fast they shipped it to me. I would buy another.
