Perhaps the best TV movie I ever saw
This movie tells the true story of an African-American teacher who opted out of the public school system and succeeded with kids who everyone said could never succeed. An inspiring modern day "Horatio Alger" story of achievement and the overcoming of obstacles. What happens when failure is not an option.

Every Republican should see this Film
This is an interesting allegorical tale. David Hemmings, in one of his best roles, represents the instinctual nature of the ordinary man with no greater aspirations other than to enjoy the pleasures of life. As political and military figures "wave the flag" to the beat of their own political persuasions, loyalty unto death to those political persuasions is the only proof of loyalty to one's ...
Anita - The Shocking Account of a Young Nymphomaniac

Anita and her journey
Filmed in Sweden circa 1973, this story presents the dire circumstances that consume Anita, a 17 year old girl who has developed an obsession for anywhere/anytime sex with perfect strangers. The film is subtitled "the true story of a 17 year old nymphomaniac" and while I have always associated the word nymphomania with a willful pleasure of all things sexual by the afflicted, here, in this case, ...

Rambo ROCKS!
If you are an action fan and (especially) if you like the previous Rambo movies then you will love this one. This is probably the most violent movie I've ever seen; it is graphic and brutal but I'm not afraid to admit I love that stuff so I really enjoyed it. All these jerks complaining about how it's too violent need to wake up to themselves- if you don't like violent movies then don't watch ...

UFO Tv, 2007
Very informative
David Ray Griffin presents a very clear and convincing presentation of what appears to be an enormous deception regarding the official story behind the september 11th attacks. The only reson I didn't give it 5 stars is because it is almost exclusively filmed in a live podium speech format (including the special features), not really a documentary. But if your looking for the info, the real facts ...

Lotta Laughs & Tension in this Feel Good Movie
With our economy in the dumps, gas going through the roof, people losing their homes, can you blame a girl if she wants to skirt the law and steal a few bucks? Well, a lotta bucks in this case. Bridget Cardigan (Diane Keaton) is forced to go into the work place because her unemployed husband (Ted Danson) isn't looking like he's going to find work anytime soon. They are knee deep in debt and ...

Best Film on Gallipoli
I have watched many films on Gallipoli, both features and documentaries. Nothing comes close to having the sustained emotional impact of Tolga Ornek's modern masterpiece. The narrative is based on the diaries and letters of 8 allied soldiers and 2 Turkish soldiers. Gelibolu (the Turkish title) focuses on the shared suffering and sacrifice by both sides in the disastrous Dardanelles campaign. The ...

What if....
The imaginative novel by Par Lagerkvist that ponders what might have happened to Barabbas once he was freed by the Romans, his place taken by Jesus at Calvary, certainly inspired Dino de Laurentiis' own imagination. Dino decided to hire everybody in Hollywood who was looking for work and whipped up this overlong 137 minute epic to compete in the post-"Ben Hur" movie spectacular era of the early ...
Josef Mengele: The Final Account
Josef Mengele
Direct Cinema Limited, 2007
The eerie recording of Josef Mengele's singing from his Brazilian hideout is made public for the first time in the opening of this film. The warrant for the arrest of Auschwitz's "Angel of Death" was a catalogue of horror, yet Mengele managed to elude justice, living in isolation in South America. Josef Mengele: The Final Account looks back at the crimes and life of the SS doctor who sent 400,000 people to the gas chambers in the horrifying ...

Quality Information Publishers Inc., 2006
M.A. Wetherell wrote, directed and starred in this 1927 silent film. This is a rare DVD copy of this vintage movie. Wetherell (who later created extreme publicity over Loch Ness Monster photos in the 1930s) plays Robinson Crusoe, the hero of Daniel Defoe's 1719 novel about a shipwrecked English sailor who, by virtue of his own ingenuity, survives for years on a small tropical island.

Haunted by the pabulum
Amatuerish, low-budget 'B' grade indies are featured in HAUNTED BY THE PAST. It's said that movies of this type hold a certain charm-- well, even skunkweed has a pretty flower. Best for the "mindless violence for the sake of fake blood" crowd. No stand-outs here. SYNOPSES: "Collinsville" - A small Connecticut town endures 50 gruesome slayings. "Collinsville II" - The axe murders ...

ABC News, 2007
So you're behind in your credit card payments again. You can't help it, you say. You're just not good at managing money. Of course, that's no excuse. But do you deserve to be harassed by a debt collector? How intrusive are they allowed to be? ABC News goes behind the scenes to show you some of the sneaky, sometimes illegal tactics debt collectors use to get money back. This "20/20" program also contains the following stories: The Murder of ...

Bookbinding DVD Series - THE ACCOUNT BOOK

A fun informative tutorial...
What I loved about the DVD...I felt like I was right in the studio with Mr. Goodwin. That he was talking to me and I was getting a personal demonstration of how to do the binding. I loved that it wasn't setup or rehearsed. It was fun to see him root around his messy desk for tools (like I do) and have lunch or a cup of coffee while waiting for things to dry. I had read an online springback ...

FACETS, 2008
An important film
I first saw this film in my History of Feminism class. It is a sad and somewhat unusual film, but it is worth it. Viewers should be warned that this film is not for most young children. It traces World War II from a female perspective. "Germany, Pale Mother" also has many citations of historical moments. A must see.
