They were the best!
What can I say? This was my era...I've been a serious fan of the original "Not Ready for Prime Time Players" and in my opinion, their creativity & humor was one of a kind. The first 5 years are the best, by far!

I feel good. I feel great. I feel wonderful.
They couldn't have picked two better actors to play the main roles in this movie. Bill Murray gets most of the attention for playing Bob, but Richard Dreyfuss is also awesome as the snobby, too serious doctor who has some issues of his own to deal with. He is always ready to explode and when he does boil over it is great to watch! I recently put this movie in for my 6 year old daughter and she ...

Effortlessly funny, Unpretentiously smart, and Surprisingly deep and touching
This movie is probably not for everyone, although I would recommend that most people try it. I think it takes a certain degree of inclination towards patient "moral" narratives to appreciate it deeply. For instance, those who only watch romantic comedies because they are expecting either gags (such as one could find in, say, "What about Bob") or linear romance with simple ups and downs (perhaps ...

A tomato doesn't have logic
The special edition of Tootsie is great! The making of - comprised of behind the scenes footage from the film shoot, make up tests, interviews with cast and crew, plus the history of how the film came to fruition - was great. I'm so glad there was an opportunity to conduct interviews with Sydney Pollack before passed away; what an amazing director and all around great guy. The interviews with ...

Cinderella Story...
The first time I saw this movie I just had my wisdom teeth removed. As Carl the greenskeeper teed up the flowers and drove them into oblivion, I laughed so hard I popped out half the stitches in my mouth. It was well worth it. The movie has a all-star cast of comics doing everything you always thought went on behind the scenes at an elite country club. Nothing is sacred. This may have ...

Royal Highness
I was so enraptured by the visual beauty the first time I saw this film, that I had to watch it again just to get the parts of the story that had passed me by. This is a complete masterpiece! Loaded with symbolism, high aestheticism, sharp wit, and deeply charming characters. The story, the art.....Five stars, on so many levels. Bravo!*****

A brilliant musical horror comedy!
In the early 60's in the grimiest part of New York City, Plant shop owner Mushnik (Vincient Gardenia) and worker Seymore Krelborne (Rick Moranis) are having bad business with their store. However during one day when Seymore was looking for unusual and weird plants while during an esclipse of the sun, he discovers a strange venus-flytrap at a Chinese plant shop and buys it. With the plant being ...

The Paths of Glory Lead But to the Grave
I am the author of Striking It Rich: Golf in the Kingdom with Generals, Patients and Pros Such is the epitaph on the tombstome of Max's deceased mother, Eloise. It serves as his mantra as well which he repeats in Latin ("sic transit gloria") both in life and in his final play about the Vietnam War. Max lives for the moment because he has found where he wants to be for the rest of his life- ...

A very good film but not as good as The Royal Tenenbaums
The Royal Tenenbaums is my favourite Wes Anderson movie, and while The Darjeeling Limited is a great movie it is not that great. Recommended.

Shenanigans at summer camp???
This is easily the best of the summer camp movies. In fact, few of the others are even fair, let alone anywhere near as entertaining as this one is. The film is just simply out to have some good, clean, fun. Many people who went to summer camp as kids will see that it is presented here faithfully to the way it usually was, but with slapstick comedy mixed in. Bill Murray, as the chief ...

"Get Me Transvestites. I Need Transvestites"
Poor Ed Wood. Commonly acknowledged as the worst director ever, he is now immortalized forever in a biopic as...quite possibly the worst director ever. Yeah. And he liked to wear women's clothes. Even parachuted during WW2 wearing women's underwear. Pretty bad situation to be in if your bra begins to chafe. Think about it. Depp plays Wood with a wide-eyed desperate earnestness. A free ...

Bill Murry is Hunter S Thompson
I've watched and own both Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Where the Buffalo Roam and both of them are excellent movies about the amazing gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson. However, Bill Murry definitely did a better job at portraying a more realistic Hunter S. Thompson, rather than a more entertaining version done by Mr. Depp. Either way both of the movies are a must buy!

My 5 & 3 year old boys LOVED it, and now want to be Ghostbusters for Halloween. I wasn't sure they would like it as much as I did as a high schooler in the 80's....EXCELLENT!

Very funny, even though I have watched it like 100 times so far
Perhaps one of the funniest movies ever. Loved it and it is highly recommended. Bill Murray is one of my favorite actors and he's brilliant in this one. John Candy death was definitely a big loss as he was a great actor and acted very well in this movie. You'll like this.

wes's best
I think a lot of people don't get this film at all. I happen to think this is Wes Anderson's best, most fully realized work. It's also one of the hardest films to try and explain to someone who hasn't seen it. For me it succeeds on all levels, narrative, visual and acting. Bill Murray is incredible. After you've watched the film once, turn it on again and watch it without sound. Note Murray's ...

One of My Favorite Movies of All Time!
I guess this is one of those "love it or hate it" movies, so all I can do is tell you why I love it so much. First, filming the movie in Japan was not only a way to capture the two main characters out of their element (which was the brilliant, central point of the film), but it took ME out of MY element, which was refreshing. I loved the nightlife, the colorful characters, the strange ...

Nothing to feel guilty about; this pleasure is well worth, um, `pleasing'...
`Wild Things' is that type of movie that is so over the top and ludicrous it ends up making perfect sense. The plot is so `out there' and `all over the place' yet in the end it all comes together in the most grounded of ways. When the curtain closes so-to-speak you realize that you wouldn't have it any other way. Most importantly though, `Wild Things' is so much fun, so engrossing and utterly ...

Fun for the Whole Family
Is it just me, or is a wave of 1996 nostalgia about to sweep the country? I'm not taking any chances. I just unearthed my styrofoam Bob Dole hat, Atlanta Olympics pin, started practicing The Macarena (not really, I think Al Gore made it "played out" for good), use Netscape instead of IE, crank "I Believe I Can Fly" (from the tight SPACE JAM soundtrack), and just watched SPACE JAM for the first ...
