The Color Purple204 reviews
Danny Glover, Whoopi Goldberg

Warner Home Video, 1997

The color of life...
One of those movies that touches a person differently with each viewing, `The Color Purple' may be a perfect film. It's hard to take, sometimes overly dramatic (this may be uplifting and inspiring in the end, but getting there is a rough journey) but Steven Spielberg almost takes a Ron Howard approach to his filmmaking and creates a film that is dramatic yet heartwarming, with enough elements of ...

Jesus Christ Superstar319 reviews
Ted Neeley, Carl Anderson (II)

Universal Studios, 1999

Superstar review
I have been a fan of this musical and movie for a very long time. I was very pleased to find it at a very good price. In spite of what some people say,Ted Neely did a fine job of portraying Jesus. Carl Anderson as Judas and Yvonne Elliman as Mary were wonderful in their supporting roles.Yvonne's vocal had the feeling of wonder and pain in her uncertainty. Overall a very good experience.

Werewolves on Wheels6 reviews
Steve Oliver, D.J. Anderson

Dark Sky Films, 2006

Best Werewolf -Biker Film I've ever seen!
Okay, truth is I thought it'd be really cool to give this film a five star review for no other reason than that it'd give me a chance to use that spiffy one-note joke headline. Okay, it's a low-budget, drive-in quality biker movie with an especially silly premise. However, if that's what you want then it delivers. I found that after one unsuccessful attempt to watch the film I needed alcohol to ...

Bloody Murder 238 reviews
Katy Woodruff, Tyler Sedustine

Lions Gate, 2003

Calm down horror fans
You can barely create a new concept in movies today that make people take notice. Horror movies always borrow an idea from a classic film like Friday the 13th or Halloween and try to make it in there own way. Think of it as a tribute to films they love. It barely works without fans getting there opinions in about how the movie was a bad rip off and no one should watch these films. Granted for ...

Dangerous Crossing (Fox Film Noir)17 reviews
Jeanne Crain, Michael Rennie

20th Century Fox, 2008

A taut, twisty thriller
Here's a perfect example of what the studio system could do with a B-movie. Shot in a mere 19 days, utilizing previously built sets, made on a modest budget, this mystery at sea delivers the goods in far more than just workmanlike fashion. Newlywed Ruth Bowman (the lovely Jeanne Crain) & her handsome new husband (a young Carl Betz) board ship for a honeymoon cruise after a whirlwind courtship ...

Third World Cop14 reviews
Paul Campbell (IV), Mark Danvers

Lions Gate, 2003

Great Movie, Must-See for Anyone Planning to Visit Jamaica!
This movie shows an absolutely accurate portrayal of Jamaican society, and the sheer lawlessness and criminality inherent there. I have been to Jamaica and the law-and-order situation there is to be seen to be believed. It is like a war zone in most places. It is impossible to walk even a few steps without being harassed and intimidated by drug-pushers, pimps, prostitutes, etc. Some reviewers ...

Out of the Blue10 reviews
David Ackridge, Eric Allen (III)

Starz / Anchor Bay, 1999

Dennis Hooper is a Hard Drinking Truck Driver who loses...
When I went to the theatre to see this 20 plus years ago (!!!) I did not know what to expect and at first it did not fit the description, but Dennis Hopper's directing and acting is a perfect back drop for Linda Manz's incredibe star performance. Way more "Punk" then most Punk films. And probably Dennis Hopper's most important film, and perhaps his least regarded.

The Passion Network
Stephanie Beaton, Robert A. Knowlton

Image Entertainment, 2002

Suburban Connecticut, 1973. While Nixon's impeachment hearings blast from the TV, the wayward Hood and Carver families try to navigate a Thanksgiving break simmering with unspoken resentments, sexual experimentation, and cultural confusion. With crystalline clarity, characteristic subtlety, and even a dose of wicked humor, Academy Awardr-winning director Ang Lee adapts Rick Moody's acclaimed novel of American malaise into a trenchant, tragic ...

The Judas Project23 reviews
John O'Banion, Ramy Zada

Good Times Video, 2003

The Judas Project
In "The Judas Project", Jesus never came 2000 years ago. Instead now, in the present, god sends his son, Jesse, to do what Jesus didn't do.And although society is very different from 2000 years ago, he gets pretty much the same reception. Loyal followers as well as detractors. I'm sure that if this movie had been done right, it could have been useful for discussions in church youth groups. ...

In Search of America5 reviews
Carl Betz, Vera Miles

"Black Belt in mouth Karate"
This is a excellent film. It seemed corny at first with the family of Jeff Bridges being "squares" in the classic middle class family way, but wait till they take off in the bus to meet some of son Jeff Bridges friends at a hippie rock concert. There they meet Tyne Daly of "Cagney&Lacy fame as a knocked up hippie chick who wants to do natural childbirth in their cardboard box house they built. ...

Rapid Assault1 review
John Maynard (III), Ted Monte

Mti Home Video, 2000

"Dual direct hit, Captain!!!"
Rapid assault is not just some low-budget straight to DVD hack-job. No, this is the type of film that gets deeper with each viewing. I owned a VHS copy of this, but I had to order the DVD. The special effects are spectacular, the story compelling...but most of all the acting is beyond compare. Dual direct hit, Captain!!!
