Black Hole of Depravity in Wichita
Very well done account of one of the most depraved and heinous crimes in American history: the 1965 torture slaying of Sylvia Likens, an innocent young girl boarding with her sister in the home of one Gertrude Baniszewski in Wichita, Kansas. As a boy of twelve, I remember reading the original story of this shocking murder in Time magazine back when it occurred. The horror of the events ...

Great movie
In an age of movies that are loud, brash, violent and special FX laden I was so impressed to see a movie where I wanted to sit right up close to the TV to catch every word. They don't make any good thought provoking movies anymore but seeing this movie renewed my faith that there are still some good people out there making fine films like this. To all the folks who were involved in the making of ...

Well Done, Could Not Have Benn Made Better, Excellent
Not just having such profound stars, in this film they were stunning. I know it's about the house, and the people connected to the house,....it told unbelievable stories, are are easily connected to the times of today. Worth watching over and over again, one catches so many different times, each time you watch it.

Masterfully ingenuous and utterly incomparable...
Charlie Kaufman may be the greatest screenwriter of our generation. He's written three of the greatest screenplays in recent memory (`Being John Malkovich', `Adaptation' and `Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind') and those are just the three I've seen (to be honest, I was not entirely impressed with `Confessions of a Dangerous Mind' and I never saw `Human Nature'). He has a knack for creating ...

Clooney, Lopez & Soderburgh are Out of Sight!!
This neglected film noir by Elmore Leonard and excellently directed by Steven Soderburgh with a fine script by Scott Frank still didn't quite make it at the box office despite great reviews. Some breakout performances by Clooney and Lopez plus their chemistry and a great cast (Don Cheadle, Albert Brooks, Ving Rhames) make this one a winner. Clooney plays an escaped thief who while escaping from ...

If you watch the first 5 or so minutes, you might expect this movie to be lame, but it most certainly is not. Inspired by an amazing true story, it's a very powerful film about a guy you really want to learn about. Fine writing, fine acting, and amazing scenery. I'm impressed.

The outrageous and unforgettable comedy delivers more laughs in this all-new special edition filled with hours of never-before-experienced pleasures! With loads of new bonus features and deleted scenes, this hilarious 2-disc set is even better than the first time. 40 Year Old Virgin
Such a cute movie & very funny. A great story about (as another reviewer says) guys that care about each other. Beware for children that there is nudity, lots of 'dirty words' and adult situations. But it's all there to build the plot and characters. I love this movie and it's happy ending!

Causes and consequences of nihilism
Cage and Schumacher examine in horrifying and brilliant detail what motivates people to do or become evil, what overcomes evil, and what evil does to the good, the naïve, and the ill-prepared. Yes, it could have been a little less ponderous and a little more compact, but that hardly is a blemish in this movie. If you're looking for cartoonish, stylized morality plays, go see a movie like "Fatal ...

Don't Miss This Movie
After seeing parts of this movie on TV I just had to have it. Ellen Barkin plays a great roll and is just hilarious. It's not for the little ones, but yet it is not one to be uncomfortable with. If you want some good laughs mixed in with an unusual situation this movie is for you. It also teaches a good lesson in being kind and the final reward of unselfish love. It is a winner!

not a bad movie at all
Friends with Money was a pretty good comedy movie with a bit of seriousness and truth thrown in. It's about all these different couples who talk to each other, and then when the girlfriends and boyfriends (or wives and husbands) leave their friends home (or restaurant or wherever the meeting place was) on the drive home, they criticize their friends and basically talk about them behind their ...

Excellent. Daniel-Day Lewis is amazing
Wishing to be free from the contemporary world, Jack and his teenaged daughter Rose live virtually self-sufficiently and alone on a small island off the East Coast. However, all is not well in his utopia lately, as his health is failing rapidly and housing developments are beginning to encroach on his borders. It is now that he is realizing that being cloistered away may not be in the best ...

His moon is in Uranus
I normally do not enjoy movies about the making of movies, so I was very pleasantly surprised to be thoroughly entertained by 'Living in Oblivion'. The reason I took the chance at all was due to the presence of Catherine Keener, one of our most overlooked and under-appreciated Hollywood actresses. She once again did not disappoint, but the entire cast was extremely good. You get a real ...

Perfect little film
I missed this little gem when it was first released, so it came as a delightful surprise. It is wonderfully cast, with John Turturro doing a brilliant job in the lead role as a tightly-wound but emotionally clueless electrical engineer who exasperates his family and construction crew alike with his rigid, humorless ways. The physical and psychic detour that he takes when he encounters the ...
