Hong Kong 19418 reviews
Yun-Fat Chow, Cecilia Yip

20th Century Fox, 2003

i heart this movie
I adore this film. I have watched it millions of times, and it never gets old. I started watching it because i wanted to learn to speak Cantonese, but i soon realized that this movie is actually quite a masterpiece. There is romance, action, and a bittersweet twist at the end. You really need to see this movie!

Peace Hotel
"Peace Hotel" is a great movie. Chow Yun-fat's acting in this movie is unquesitonably wonderful. I am a big Chow Yun-fat's fan, but I didn't like any of the movies that he made in the U.S. It was a shame that this was the last movie that he ever made in Hong Kong.

Devil Angel1 review
Nina Li Chi, Cecilia Yip

Cav Distribution, 2002

This is the Story of Chi Kit and Siu Suen
This film features the very beautiful Taiwanese actress Vivian Hsu as Siu Suen. Siu Suen's boyfriend, Chi Kit, loses his money, and apparently lots of his employers money, in the stock market. We are treated to scenes in which Chi Kit and Siu Suen pledge their eternal love for each other - as well ...

Crazy Hong Kong3 reviews
Conrad Janis, N!xau

Televista, 2007

The Best of the Later Movies
You had to work to get here. This movie, with the g left off of Kong is hard to find. This movie is part of the Gods Must Be Crazy series, and it is the best of the later movies. In this movie N!xau is wandering around Hong Kong. Basically he is wondering where he is and how to get home. It's big time culture shock. This movie is sometimes called The Gods Must Be Crazy IV-2. There is ...

Jackie Chan, Lung Chan

20th Century Fox, 2005

Jackie Chan, Jackie Chan, Jackie Chan...
Jackie Chan, Jackie Chan, Jackie Chan... You Bak Guis didn't get it, did you? This was a Sammo Hung movie and if you were brought up in the 60's, 70's and 80's with the genre you would know that not all Chinese movies are about Jackie Chan, Jackie Chan, Jackie Chan... I am a Jackie Chan fan but I can open my mind to other types of these movies and enjoy the heck out of them. This movie paid ...

Organized Crime & Triad Bureau3 reviews
Danny Lee, Parkman Wong

Tai Seng, 1998

not an easy film to like but...
OCTB isn't an easy film to like. The "good" cop isn't so good. The "bad" guy isn't so bad. While many cop films have done this with varying levels of success, few have done it with the intensity that OCTB has. And few have done it with a believable and gentle romantic love story in the middle of all the violence. Also, few have had the benefit of great HK stars like Danny Lee, Anthony ...

Centre Stage6 reviews
Li-li Li, Paul Chang

Tai Seng, 1998

Center Stage
Center Stage re-enacts the short life of Ruan Lingyu, who was arguably the cinematic queen in the 20's to 30's. The half-documentary film, with an unrivaled performance by Maggie Cheung, stirred the memory of the sensational silent film actress, whose films are rarely watched by the current generation of audience. Ruan was a modern woman, yet still suffering from the weakness of her character, ...

The one you don't want to miss
If you like Hong Kong movies, if you like cute guys, if you lilke fighting, and if you like feature movies. Then this is one you don't want to miss out. Not too much actions like some others, a little love story, exciting movies.

Disconnection in Melancholic Loneliness - Brilliant!!!
Ming-liang Tsai's films are nothing like what most audiences are used to as his films have very little, or almost no, dialogue. This means that the dynamic force of Tsai's films are the images and the scenes that he creates with a meticulous perfection as if each scene could be hanging by itself in the Louvre. Through doing this the audience is compelled to participate cerebrally and try to ...

Chinese Scarface kill you long time...
This film is essentially the HK version of Scarface with slight remnants of the Stink...oops, i mean Godfather. But from what i have researched (yes, i am a nerd with certain types of films), it is based on a real story of a gangster named Ho. He's a man with a vision and if you get in his way, awww shucks....He will not be disrespected and will not back down. The dude who plays him is ...
