Spike does it again!
The latest Spike Lee Joint, Inside Man, is the best bank heist movie since Pacino's Dog Day Afternoon... but it's much better. For those who may have thought that Spike has gone mainstream, you need to see the way he spins this plot. It's not even over when it's over, and the characters are built as multi-layered, free forms. This film is what you go to the theater to experience. It's a crime ...

A TERRIFYING DYSTOPIAN VISION NOT FAR OFF
Alfonso Charón's "Children of Men" is an adaptation of the P.D. James dystopian novel about the breakdown of all social institutions when the human race ceases the ability to procreate and faces the likelihood of its own extinction. Chaos and civil war overtake the globe, and, in Great Britain, Orwellian fascism is the only order left as refugees are imprisoned in cages, the middle class ...

A love-hate movie that I loved
"Shoot 'Em Up" is a straight-faced over-the-top parody of the action movie genre. Profoundly silly one-liners after shooting a guy? Check. No backstory about our cookie-cutter characters? Got it. An overly convoluted plot that makes no sense at all? Yep. The ability of the hero to run away from 10 guys shooting at him a close range? Check. And stunts that would kill a regular human being ...

We love Pan!
Even as an adult, I'm still facinated by the Peter Pan story and this sequel gives fans a fun visual continuation of the story. It's not an award wining movie, but one that my two young daughters (ages 4 and 2) and I have watched over and over since receiving it. You get to know the Lost Boys a little more in this story and there's just enough action to hold the girls attention. Who doesn't dream ...

AMAZON REWRITE YOUR DESCRIPTION!
I recently wasted a sellers time along with my own because AMAZON provided the description of the DIRECTOR'S CUT on this page instead of the run-of-the-mill theatrical cuts description.. Now I am left with a useless DVD and a mailing fee that I do not feel I need to pay due to AMAZON'S complacency with their product descriptions. I DO LOVE THE MOVIE THOUGH...

WELL PACED, SOLID ACTION MOVIE! MY 900TH REVIEW AND COUNTING!
I have not read the book, but reviewing this as a movie on it's own, it's quite good and much better than the usual action fare! Matt Damon plays Jason Bourne like a robotic killing machine. Fast paced, engrossing with an intelligent script, this film leaves you wanting more!......and more ye shall get with installments 2 and 3! The DVD has a great transfer and the extended edition is nothing ...

Commentary by Julian Fellowes is most enjoyable!
I'm glad this DVD belongs to me for I will watch it many times. The music is lovely and Jeremy Northam and Clive Owen are easy on the eyes. Julian Fellowes has an excellent commentary explaining the aristocracy and the servant class which made the story-line all the more understandable and therefore more enjoyable. Thank you, Julian Fellowes!

Elizabeth, The Sequel
Shadow Watcher Nobody Drowns in Mineral Lake ELIZABETH: THE GOLDEN AGE may be somewhat historically incorrect, but it is still a fascinating, extremely entertaining epic motion picture. Why many of the nation's critics, aside from Cate Blanchett's superb performance, didn't like it, I have no idea. Either they have no idea what they're talking about, or I have absolutely no taste ...

a much grittier & 'real' King Arthur than the Camelot version
I loved this movie. Clive Owen's portrayal of King Arthur gave it an Earthy, realistic feeling you don't get in other movies on the figure like 'Excaliber' (which I also loved but in a different way). Keira Knightley's Gwenevere is animalistic & raw, just like the setting this movie was shot in, & Arthur's knights are true gritty warriors, not the typical chivalrous knight in shining armor they ...

PSP Review - Forget the DVD, get the UMD!!!!
Sin City has finally come out on PSP, and my god it doesn't get better than this. A few words about the movie - This is, without a doubt, a MASTERPIECE of film-making, and definately live's up to the hype surrounding it's release. Now that's said, let's get onto technical side of the UMD disc. Video: Sin City looks absolutley JAW DROPPING on PSP. Consistently sharp, contrasty as ...

brutal truth
LOOK! It's this simple, the people that give this move 4 stars or less are still either 1. sheltered or 2. jaded. Either way it's an inability to face the facts of what this move represents.... the utter, brutal and cold facts about who we ALL are! Proof again that people don't like the truth! "Truth is a game... we all play to win." As a side note, those who rate this poorly are nothing ...

Great Film....
I bought the film Bent very recently because I like very much Clive Owen. This is a great film. A good example on how our mind is free and superior to any barrier or boundary. A love between two persons is always beautiful... It's also a very sad film because shows a piece of our history that we can't forget in order to avoid the same mistakes. I recommend it...

Surprisingly Good
This is a good, solid movie, well above average. The plot twists are very entertaining, and I didn't see any of them coming. The video and sound on the DVD are very good. This is worth a purchase at around $5-6.

the best, period
I have seen a lot of spy films. For suspense, mystery, complexity that the viewer must unravel, and that strange quality that allows you to suspend your disbelief, this is undoubtedly the best trilogy of spydom I have ever seen. You start with Bourne waking with amnesia, struggling to remember who he is, but with his calculating mind and deadly skills wired into his DNA. He is in danger ...
