Originality at it's pinnacle, very enjoyable film. Jean Luc Godard is to people what Tim Burton is to immagination, no one covers the true feelings and actions of people like Godard, this is probably my second favorite Godard film, BREATHLESS being the first.

Sukkar Banat.
Wow what can I say, I was really impressed by this. Caramel has got to be one of the best and most well-done films that I've ever seen come out of Lebanon. It's was wonderfully shot using the best cinematography in an Arabic film, the colors were very vibrant which shows all the great sights of Beirut. Caramel a.k.a. Sukkar Banat is the directorial debut of the stunningly beautiful actress Nadine ...

"Buckle for safety mother F**cker"
I thought this movie was very good, and funny. Queen Latifah played a wondferul part. Jimmy Falllon, I really didn't know his work, so I can't judge him, but if your a Queen Latifah fan, this movie should be in your collection

Hanna D.: The
There's a lot of marvelous, nostalgic full-frontal nudity but Hanna D: The Girl from Vondel Park should've been kept just that: Secret. The acting is horrible and the story is just not credible in the least. If you're looking for something dark, dreary and full of nonsensical sex, then this is for the person who wants to just burn a fun 88 minutes of their time.

Gritty Realism Defines Brothers' Relationship
SON FRERE (His Brother) is yet another fine French film from the gifted Director of opera and film Patrice Chereau ("Intimacy", "Those Who Love Me Can Take The Train", "Queen Margot") and as in his other works, SON FRERE succeeds in drawing the audience along a journey that is not always pleasant (it is often even very grim) but one that leads to introspection and leaves the viewer the richer for ...

Even sicker than BAMBI!!!
I saw this nearly 30 years ago on cable at a friend's house and just saw it again a second time on DVD. It remains one of the most remarkable movies I have ever seen. Like a lot of boomers I grew up watching a lot of old 1930's films on TV: The Stooges, Bowery Boys, Betty Boop, et al. This movie summons all that in glorious nostalgic detail, but (and this is the key) it does so without the fake ...

Fantastic French Film-Noir
French auteur Louis Malle made his 1958 feature film debut with "Elevator to the Gallows," when he was just 24 years old. The film features Jeanne Moreau as the unhappy wife of an older, successful industrialist (Jean Wall). She's been having an affair with one of his employees, the dashing Julien Tavernier (Maurice Ronet), and the two plan to murder her husband so that they can be together. ...

Slow, Slow, Quick, Quick
This movie started off so slow for me. I was a little concerned, but once again, I'm on a spree to see every single movie that Mos Def was in, so I hoped that he knew what he was doing when he picked this role. I shook my head when he started speaking in a Nigerian accent. That cat loves to speak in any accent but his own Brooklyn drawl, and even better, he does it so well. I wonder how people ...

Summer Lovers
This movie reminded me alot of Summer Lovers'. This girl is on her quest to find out about life and love. It is fun to tag along. This girl is truely beautiful. You'll find yourself admiring her at times and then scorning her as she does the stupid things in life we do. Fun movie, beautiful landscapes.

Sylvia Kristel shines as Vadim flounders a second time.
Director Roger Vadim is credited with the first film adaptation of writer Chaderlos de Laclo's "Les Liaisons Dangerous," back in 1959. His first Liaisons adaptation is probably his best film on DVD. His first movie, "And God...Created Woman,"is his most influential, and is credited with starting the French "New Wave" back in 1956. His most famous is probably Jane Fonda's "Barbarella." However, ...

Outstanding acting and tale
The young girl who plays the lead here does an amazing job of showing the jolt she goes through when she is torn away from her adoptive parents and told she was the child of people who disappeared during Argentina's '70s military dictatorship. Her love for her 'parents' turns to loathing over the course of the movie as she learns the ugly political truth and returns to what's left of her blood ...
