P.S. I Love You155 reviews
Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler

Warner Home Video, 2008

Loved this movie
Went to see this movie in the theater with my husband and eighteen year old son. Amazing when all three of us like the same movie. Definitely a romantic comedy, but had enough good music and humor to keep even the 18 year old's interest. Probably helped that he was heading to Ireland a few months after this. I strongly recommend this movie. It's the type you can watch over and over and the ...

Iron Jawed Angels94 reviews
Hilary Swank, Margo Martindale

Hbo Home Video, 2004

a must see
every woman that is undecided about voting or not really needs to see this. If she is only thinking that her vote does not matter that much so why bother, well... look at this and see what these women did just to get you your vote... then look ashamed! I was very pleased in how fast this order arrived and in great condition.

The Gift173 reviews
Cate Blanchett, Giovanni Ribisi

Paramount, 2001

Honest Film About A Southern Taboo
This movie was made in Savannah, Ga. If you saw Midnight In The Garden, you are already aware of the 'other' presence there of magic, obeah and other supernatural events. Ribisi is just incredible in this film. I really like this guy enormously. He gives 1000 percent in every performance. Ms. Blanchett shines as the gal with the gift. While the story is very over the top, all of the people ...

Freedom Writers (Full Screen Edition)110 reviews
Hilary Swank, Patrick Dempsey

Paramount, 2007

Patrick Dempsey was the sole flaw
I am not a fan of Patrick Dempsey in the least. Therefore, he bothered me in this movie. That is the solitary flaw. Now that I have that said, this is one of the best movies for all of us saps who love something inspirational. Being a teacher, albeit of grade school, this tribute to the book and its authors especially touched me. The acting is beside the point. Good performances, there ...

Million Dollar Baby (Two-Disc Widescreen Edition)504 reviews
Jay Baruchel, Marcus Chait

Warner Home Video, 2005

Best picture I've seen in quite some time.
This is the best Clint Eastwood movie out there, I'd hate to say that Clint's acting actually moved me, but it did. Everything works in this one, the story, the actors, and the directing. Highly recommend. Loved it!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer182 reviews
Kristy Swanson, Donald Sutherland

20th Century Fox, 2001

Cheesy, comedic fun.
This is a great movie for the lighthearted, cheesy, comedic angle. I prefer this type of thing to the TV series, which takes itself WAY to seriously. This movie is a great lighthearted laugh or two.

Boys Don't Cry263 reviews
Hilary Swank, Chloë Sevigny

Fox Searchlight Pictures, 2000

Powerful
I find it hard to believe that anyone could watch this movie and not be moved by this powerful story. The heartbreaking part of it being that it's based off true events. Brandon was clearly suffering from some identity issues and she had run into some close calls before hooking up with this group of *friends*. Hilary Swank definitely earned her Oscar with this production. Great movie.

The Black Dahlia (Widescreen Edition)220 reviews
Brian De Palma, Steve Eastin

Universal Studios, 2006

SO MUCH POTENTIAL, SO MUCH WASTED 6 OUT OF 10
I like crime dramas, they are a very sophisticated form of film and most of them have been compelling and rather interesting and they really know how to deliver plots and twists. This film however, squanders the potential it has by not taking its interesting ideas anywhere. Scenes go back and forth and really don't have much to do with the Black Dahlia murder most of the time, but rather it feels ...

EXCELLENT FILM! DON'T MISS IT!
This is a really cool movie. If you liked Crash or even Pulp Fiction you will really like this little known film. One of the best I've seen in a while.

Dying to Belong3 reviews
Sarah Chalke, Mark-Paul Gosselaar

Platinum Disc, 2005

Great video for teens
I teach "The Battle of Jericho" and this video does a pretty good job depicting the hazing issue. My female students enjoyed it more than the males.

The Reaping60 reviews
Hilary Swank

Warner Home Video, 2007

The Reaping Starring Hilary Swank
"The Reaping" is for the most part a good supernatural/horror film..... That is until the last 20 minutes of the storyline went completely haywire and the over-the-top special effects & the "End of Days" type theme killed the movie. The Pros: Hilary Swank does a fine acting job in this film. I also liked the initial theme of "The Reaping", where Swank's character, Katherine Winter, is a LSU ...

The Next Karate Kid34 reviews
Pat Morita, Hilary Swank

Sony Pictures, 2001

BETTER THAN THE OTHER SEQUELS! ENJOYABLE!
This film just edged out Karate Kid part 2 as a better movie. Pat Morita and Hilary Swank(in an early role)do their best in this fairly good and enjoyable sequel. I would give it 3 1/2 stars. The DVD transfer looks very good. I found the box set for the price of the first film,so it was worth buying the set.

Insomnia (Widescreen Edition)274 reviews
Al Pacino, Robin Williams

Warner Home Video, 2002

"Wild card!"
2002's "Insomnia" is one of the most quietly melancholy American movies I've ever seen--all the characters (with the exception of Hillary Swank's annoyingly idealistic female detective Ellie Burr) are somehow grimy and have something to hide. Robin Williams plays a really good creep. "One Hour Photo" was a movie with a lot of potential that ultimately went nowhere, but he sure makes up for ...

The Core (Widescreen Edition)176 reviews
Aaron Eckhart, Hilary Swank

Paramount, 2003

Excellent film & Superb transfer to DVD
Why would anyone expect a film like this to be scientically sound? I am an engineer/scientist and I love films like this! This is science FICTION, already--a little bit of science and lots of fiction. 'The Core' is no less scientific than the Star Wars or Star Trek sagas. Anyway, it is puzzling why this film did not do better at the box office. It has most of the right elements: Great ...
