The Soul Is In The Software
I'll watch damn near anything with Jack Palance or Billy Drago. But a film that has both of them? I'm there. Even if it is Cyborg 2! The original Cyborg with VanDamme had it's bit of entertainment value, but will certainly never be considered a GOOD movie by any means. It's quite easy to assume that a sequel would be totally rotten. Strangely, it isn't. In fact, it's not bad at all. If ...

Togo's #23. It's the best
"Stalking Laura" is the feel good romantic comedy of the year that's finally available on DVD. Richard Thomas stars as our shy, misunderstood hero Richard Farley who's determined to win the heart of a cold, career minded co-worker (Laura Black) portrayed with bitchy hilariousness by Brooke Shields. Determined to win her love despite the objections of an overzealous and litigious HR ...

Vampire buddy-cop movie set in Soviet-style world
That's mostly what you need to know about the movie - it's an intriguing notion. Vampires have recently announced their presence to the world, now that they have a serum to take instead of drinking blood. NSA cop Steven Grant is understandably upset about this after his partner is killed by a vampire, especially when he is teamed up with vampire cop Aaron Gray. However, they slowly reach an ...

One of the zombie genre's high points
As great as zombie flicks are, they easily qualify as one of horror's most polarizing sub-genres. Movies such as Dawn of the Dead have gone on to be considered what great horror is made of, and others such as Oasis of the Zombies have quickly been filed away into most viewer's repressed memory. Return of the Living Dead, however, manages to rank up there with Romero's living dead flicks as far as ...

John and Tim two funny guys
I came by this movie by accident at Kmart. I am a big John Cusack fan so I bought it. We must have watched this movie a dozen or more times. I did become a Swanky Mode fan. The music was fun. The part where they film the video was crazy. We laughed through the chicken commercial they made. Anyone who is a Tim Robbins and John Cusack fan will like this movie. My DVD came with the song "Ordinary ...

An Innocent Sexual Spoof
A spoof about sex that uses grown women rather than young girls. As with all good sex spoofs, it plays on the absurd ideas we have about sex. This is a "chick flick" isuppose but a very good one.

Very true to the book written by Stephen King!
This is a great movie if you are the type of person who likes a movie about a book to be true to the book. In The Shining that was done by Stanley Kubrick, it was his "interpretation" of the book by Stephen King. And although it was a great movie on its own, it was not at all very true to the book. In this movie, which was a 3 night mini-series on ABC, Stephen King was allowed to make it almost ...

Great Adaptation!
I thought this adaptation would have gotten a nod from Willa Cather. The scenery was beautiful, the characters just as Willa Cather drew them in her book by the same title. Jessica Lange was Alexandra with her quite dignity, and strong will and the chemistry between she and Carl was very believable. Perhaps the best characters were Maria (Anne Heche) and Emile, who did a superb job at playing ...

American Zombie DOES work!
I do think it works as a funny mockumentary. I laughed out loud many times, more than I can say for many recent comedies. I thought it was a fresh idea and I liked the characters. The final scenes actually did have "horror" in it, as well.

A rather well done zombie movie
2 warehouse workers inadvertently cause a drum to leak poisonous trioxyn gas into the warehouse. What starts out as a way to dispose of a reanimated corpse causes an entire graveyard to come back to life in search of delicious brains! I believe this was the first zombie movie to introduce running corpses. I slept for 3 days with my light on after seeing that Tarman closeup back when I was 7.

Far from the first one
This movie is a bad sequels like many other sequels out there. Original Cyborg was awesome! This one blows! Seeing a young tender Angelina Jolie was great, especially in that scene with what's his face...Other than that, I wasted an hour and a half of my life watching this. On the other hand, Jolie's first film, which I hope is this one, was enough to make me watch this and the fact that ...

Great Movie
This was a great movie. The true story of a woman that was stalked by a man she worked with. He was everywhere she went. She never even dated him. She told him from the beginning that they would only have a professional relationship but he ignored her. Eventually he was fired for his behavior. When the problems he caused were going to prevent her from getting a promotion she finally filed for a ...

Not to be missed
"King of the Hill" was Steven Soderbergh's third film, following "Sex, Lies, and Videotape" and the inscrutable "Kafka." Compared to these films, "King of the Hill" is a small and straight-forward tale of the Depression. Jesse Bradford ("Swimfan") stars as Aaron Kurlander, a bright youngster in 1933 St. Louis. His family is impoverished, although his salesman father (Jeroen Krabbe) manages ...

Killer Kitsch
I was just watching Desperado with Antonio Banderas for the third or fourth time and it occured to me that this dangerous Mexican saloon town formula goes way back to the eighties (or maybe even before) and that there was a stylish movie I saw over a decade ago in the theater that was the quintessence of that whole "Urban Spaghetti Western" as I call it. That movie was the Blue Iguana, a movie ...

pretty good
I man is arrested, tried & sentenced to death for the murder of his step daughter. His lawyers were able to prove that he did not kill her & he was released from prison. The killer was never caught. They thought it might have been a family member that was violent. But it was never proven. good book & good movie

Great indie film
The slow pacing is a good match for the rural, quiet lifestyle. Characters are complex, interesting, likeable and believable. Especially enjoyed Julianne Nicholson's portrayal of Ella Smalley, a kind, honest young woman bringing some life to the lonely family dynamic of a single father raising two sons. The theme is bittersweet with a touch of hopefullness. Recommended.
