Cheers - The Complete Third Season25 reviews
Ted Danson, Shelley Long

National Broadcasting Company (NBC), 2004

IT'S A LITTLE KNOWN FACT ....
Fully established as a sitcom powerhouse, the third season of Cheers would end in sadness. During filming, Nicholas Colasanto, who played the loveable Coach, discovered he was dying. Told he had only six months to live, he would pass away six weeks later, leaving a gaping hole in the cast. With three episodes left in the season, it was explained that Coach had gone on vacation. During it's ...

North and South - The Complete Collection220 reviews
Kirstie Alley, David Carradine

American Broadcasting Company (ABC), 2004

Fantastic except for book three
Book one and two are fantastic. This series gives you the clearest vision of the reality of the Civil war yet produced. Sadly, book three is an absolute disaster. I can't stress this enough. It is totally unwatchable if you enjoyed books one and two. It's not only bad, but it demeans the first two books by insulting the intelligence of the viewer. It clearly was shot for profit and nothing else. ...

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan - The Director's Cut (Two-Disc Special Collector's Edition)377 reviews
William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy

Paramount, 2002

Space Opera Supreme
Take a classic television series with a dedicated fanbase, insert one of its most popular villains and toss a major motion picture budget at it and what do you get: "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan." Perhaps the closest film in the "Star Trek" catalogue to the original televison series, "Khan" finds Kirk as the admiral in charge of assessing a green crew on routine training maneuvers. ...

Salem Witch Trials [Blu-ray]
Kirstie Alley, Rebecca De Mornay

Echo Bridge Home Entertainment, 2008

Salem, Massachusetts. A small town--with no clear governing body--became embroiled in a scandal that forever stands as one of the darkest chapters in American history. For those accused of witchcraft by their neighbors and friends, there was little chance of clearing their names; the mass paranoia that ravaged through the community took the lives of 19 innocent men and women. With an all-star cast of Kirstie Alley, Rebecca De Mornay, Kristin ...

Drop Dead Gorgeous202 reviews
Kirsten Dunst, Ellen Barkin

New Line Home Video, 1999

Invaluable Parental Aid for Raising Daughters
You've read the plot synopsis and you probably know that Drop Dead Gorgeous is Drop Dead Funny. One of the things that makes it work is that the cast almost never winks at the audience. There's hardly a clue that this is an over-the-top parody. This deadpan quality is what made it such a great daughter-rearing aid. When our child was about the age when lipstick starts to supplant funny face ...

Peter and the Wolf28 reviews
Kirstie Alley, Lloyd Bridges

Columbia TriStar, 2003

Lots of value for the money!
This DVD was well worth the less than $10 I paid for it. I am using it at school and my students have been mesmerized. The extra features are an added bonus - an introduction to instruments of the orchestra and the cutest game! There are 25 different combinations in the game in which you can match an instrument sound with an animal. This DVD is a fresh approach to a classic story!

Salem Witch Trials1 review
Kristin Booth, Rebecca De Mornay

Echo Bridge Home Entertainment, 2008

Compelling re-telling of the Salem Witch Trials
"Salem Witch Trials" is a compelling 2003 CBS mini-series that featured many familiar and veteran actors and for the most part, stayed true to the historical events that came to be known as the Salem Witch Trials. The mini-series begins on a rather odd note - it is right in the middle of a trial where the afflicted girls [who are the ones accusing people of witchcraft]go into hysterics and ...

Runaway28 reviews
Tom Selleck, Cynthia Rhodes

Sony Pictures, 2000

Great Popcorn Fun
I suppose if you read all my reviews, you may be inclined to think I rate everything five stars. That's not really so, I'm just inclined to rate what I enjoy the most. I've seen thousands of movies in my lifetime, everything from "Manos, hand of Fate" to "Gone with the Wind" and "Dr. Zhivago." Yes, five here, too for Runaway. Runaway is no GWTW or DZ, but it's a good, very well casted little ...

Shoot to Kill30 reviews
Sidney Poitier, Tom Berenger

Walt Disney Video, 2003

A forgotten classic
I just saw this movie after a very long time, and all I can say is: Go out and find it, or order it on Amazon..It is GREAT! The Movie starts out as a Jewel thief robbing a wealthy couple, and getting away with the wife as a hostage. Sydney Poitier plays the detective in the case, who with a mountain man must follow him up into the mountains where he fled to catch him. The criminal has ...

Look Who's Talking, Too20 reviews
John Travolta, Kirstie Alley

Sony Pictures, 2000

Great Sequel
Usually sequels are not that good, but I love this one. Kirstie Alley is beautiful and John, not words needed... Movie was delivered on time and in excellent condition.

Toothless29 reviews
Catlin Adams, Kirstie Alley

Walt Disney Video, 2003

Heartwarming!
I really was attatched to this movie, because it showes the love of a dead, self thoughtfull dentist, that died getting run over by a car, and was angry about it. I first saw Dr. Katherine Lewis (Kirstie Alley) as a rude, stuck up, only 1 friend allowed type of person. Lynn Redgrave (Rogers) did a spectacular job in the movie. I liked how this movie showed her love for the world changing, and ...

Summer School (Life's a Beach Edition)51 reviews
Lillian Adams, Kirstie Alley

Paramount, 2007

Still an enjoyable movie 20 years later
I never equated Summer School with anything remotely raunchy, so I was surprised to see that term brought up in the top review here in regard to this movie. I loved watching this when it was first on cable nearly twenty years ago and I look forward to watching this again real soon. I enjoyed Mark Harmon's and Kirstie Alley's performances, and seeing the star review reminded me of Courtney ...

Deconstructing Harry100 reviews
Caroline Aaron, Kirstie Alley

New Line Home Video, 1998

A wonderfully constructed comedy that helps us deconstruct ourselves...
Getting to know Woody Allen's filmography as of late has been a real trip, and while there have been some misses for me, for the most part I have become a real fan of his work. `Deconstructing Harry' may very well be one of my favorites. The film is an uproarious look at the struggle one makes to create something, about the fact that fiction truly imitates life and that life, in its rawest of ...

Look Who's Talking Now19 reviews
John Travolta, Kirstie Alley

Sony Pictures, 2002

Hilarious!
For a while HBO would show this movie 4 or 5 times a day, but I could never resist watching it again and again whenever I came across it. John Travolta and Kirstie Alley are so endearing, and the kids are hilarious. Anyone who has siblings can understand the hilarity behind their sibling rivalry. The dogs, or course, are the best part, voiced by Danny DeVito and Diane Keaton. This movie is ...

Look Who's Talking32 reviews
John Travolta, Kirstie Alley

Sony Pictures, 1998

Enjoyable.
Look Who's Talking starring Kirstie Alley and John Travolta is a childhood favorite of mine and still is! The two stars have incredible and unexpected chemistry together. Olympia Dukakis and George Segal also star. Bruce Willis is the voice of the talking baby, he does a great job who would have guessed? You gotta see this feel-good comedy, enjoy!

Sibling Rivalry14 reviews
Kirstie Alley, Scott Bakula

MGM (Video & DVD), 2003

Simply funny, bust your gut comedy!
Hilariously funny! I never tire of this movie and have seen it a record 32 times to date. The plot reeks of the worst case scenario with regards to marital infidelity, of the absolutely incomprehensible kind and situation.. A must see, or pick up for the collection of classic comedy movies. Tears of laughter friends, tears of laughter.
