GoodFellas [Blu-ray]633 reviews
Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta

Warner Home Video, 2007

The Best Mob Movie Made - Ever!
The quintessential New York City mob film, in a class by itself, my only five-star review to date (and I'd give it more if I could). Based on the book "Wiseguy" by Nicholas Pileggi, Martin Scorsese's brilliant masterpiece introduces us to Henry Hill, as enacted by Ray Liotta, a disarming, likeable sort who can never be initiated into the Mafia because he's only half Italian (his father is ...

Riding in Cars with Boys (Special Edition)100 reviews
Drew Barrymore, Lorraine Bracco

Sony Pictures, 2002

Riding in Cars with Boys
My wife and I find the storyline to be realistic. The characters portrayed people who were believable in spite of their dysfunctions. This movie has been added to our collection of movies to be viewed often.

Hackers302 reviews
Jonny Lee Miller, Angelina Jolie

MGM (Video & DVD), 1998

Extremely accurate
This was the most accurate portrayal of hacking I have ever seen. The speed at which they are able to connect via analog modem was also very accurate. I thought that the personal, proprietary browser and instant messaging technology added a very interesting aspect to the film. If it wasn't for this movie, I would never have seen those kickflippin' graphics with the jail bars that load so quickly ...

The Basketball Diaries110 reviews
Leonardo DiCaprio, Lorraine Bracco

Palm Pictures / Umvd, 2004

THE LEONARDO CODE
The late Jimmy Stewart used to stress time and again that acting should look natural to the viewer. Leo Di Caprio certainly fills the bill in this movie, which should be a mandatory primer for all young actors to view. In a stunning portrayal of James Carroll, DiCaprio leads us down the path of adolescent destruction caused in part by adult abuse, negative peer pressure, a shaky home ...

Medicine Man60 reviews
Sean Connery, Lorraine Bracco

Walt Disney Video, 1999

Medicine Man
"Medicine Man" is, in my personal opinion, an entertaining, funny movie with a real life message about conserving our natural resources. This movie focuses on plants and animals and all of their posibiities for unknown uses, including medical cures that undiscovered and non-studied plants and animals possess. As an example, just recently the venom of the Gila Monster, Heloderma suspectum, has ...

Radio Flyer70 reviews
Lorraine Bracco, John Heard

Sony Pictures, 2004

Beautiful story and there really are 2 boys
This is a beautifully crafted movie with a controversial ending. A lot of people are annoyed by the ending (which I won't reveal here), viewing it as inappropriate for this thype of movie. Others believe that instead of there being 2 brothers there is only really one boy with an imaginary brother taking all the abuse. And this explains the strange ending. However, as I recall after many ...

Someone to Watch Over Me26 reviews
Tom Berenger, Mimi Rogers

Sony Pictures, 1999

Murder and Passion in the Big Apple
This review refers to "Someone To Watch Over Me"(VHS Columbia)... No matter how often I view this thriller, I still get caught up in the suspense, the thrills and the romance. Director Ridley Scott does an excellent job of pulling us into the lives of the characters, and like in a good Hitchcock flick, has us wanting to warn them of impending danger. New York City is the setting. On one ...

Switch19 reviews
Ellen Barkin, Jimmy Smits

Hbo Home Video, 2000

Don't Miss This Movie
After seeing parts of this movie on TV I just had to have it. Ellen Barkin plays a great roll and is just hilarious. It's not for the little ones, but yet it is not one to be uncomfortable with. If you want some good laughs mixed in with an unusual situation this movie is for you. It also teaches a good lesson in being kind and the final reward of unselfish love. It is a winner!

Lawrence Bayne, Jason Blicker

Tango Entertainment, 2005

Love Lorraine, Not Diane "Getting Gotti"
Lorraine Bracco's performance was excellent. The portrayal was just as the events unfolded. However, after leaving the US Attorney's office she became my boss at NYNEX, not so excellant. Gordon Kern Casa Grande, AZ

TANGLED
A must see for all Jonathan Rhys Meyers fans wanting to see a little more....of his acting in the beginning of his career. "He is young and ambitious and needs to have it all no matter what it cost him or who he hurts" He's the guy your mother warned you about.

GoodFellas2 reviews
Frank Albanese, Anthony Alessandro

Warner Home Video, 2007

One of the better gangster movies
Goodfellas is one of the best of its genre. Based on facts, it is violent and graphic, with excellent acting throughout. At times, the storyline becomes muddled with too many characters, but it's still entertaining. Definitely NOT for children; the language is excessively (and unnecessarily) obscene.
