Crazy Couple Adventure
Romancing the Stone is just plain fun. Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas have plenty of chemistry and the action and laughs never stop. Danny DeVito is great as a bumbling bad guy. If you liked this, you'll probably also like the sequal Jewel of the Nile and all the Indiana Jones movies.

Wonderful "Wonder Boys"
"Wonder Boys" isn't quite a masterwork like Curtis Hanson's previous film, "L.A. Confidential," but it's excellent in its own way. The humor in the film is subtle, but there are several guffaws to be had. The film follows a college English professor played by Michael Douglas during the weekend of Wordfest, a literary celebration that brings out a best-selling author (Rip Torn) whose prolific ...

'The Devil has come to Tsavo'
This is one of the best adventure/suspense movies ever made and deserves ten stars! Well written and paced, even the music chosen was excellent in keeping the tension at the proper level. Douglas and Kilmer are terrific, believable characters as they round out an already intense story based on two real lions who terrorized an area of Africa. I saw one of the stuffed lions at the Field Museum in ...

Divorced, Going thru a child custody fight?
Falling Down DVD Joel Schumacher's 1992 movie "Falling Down" is a chillingly powerful movie that seems to get often misinterpreted. Don't get the wrong idea, there definitely is substance to this movie--it's not just some kind of freak show. Michael Douglas, in a spellbinding performance, plays William Foster, a man who totally collapses emotionally while stuck in traffic one morning. He ...

Sensational
I've never seen the stage version of "A Chorus Line" so my only reference point is the film version. And I thought it was great!!! This had to be difficult material to translate to film. The film starts with a stage filled with hundreds of applicants giving their all for a scant eight slots in a chorus line. With a wave of the hand the choreographer(Michael Douglas) whittles it to sixteen. ...

Shining Review for Shining Through
Loved this movie. Loved the twists and turns it took. Loved the suspense...never was sure of how it would end, and even the ending was a bit of a surprise. Wish they made more movies like this.

Cary Grant Lives
This is a very pleasant romantic comedy, reminisent of the old Cary Grant screwball affairs, light on the sex & heavy on the budding relationship. This blending of film making elements, so prevalent during the golden age of movies, makes a 2 hr film seem far too short; whereas, today, most 2 hr films seem far too long. Douglas, the younger, & Sheen, Fox, etc. hold together like a fine tuned car ...

One of the best mindbenders Hollywood has offered.
From start to finish, The Game is full of action, adventure, mind bending twists and turns. Douglas shines in this role, the typical rich arrogant executive; he gets sucked into something called the Game. Douglas, not really sure what the Game is, decides to go for it. Pretty soon his entire life starts to unravel. It's uncomfortable in places to watch, and is EXTREMELY unrealistic. Only ...

Great movie!!!
once in a lifetime comes a motion picture that makes you fall in love again. this is not that movie. in this blackest of comedies, a perfect 18-year marriage suddenly becomes unglued and the gleefully evil Barbara (KATHLEEN TURNER) and Oliver (MICHAEL DOUGLAS) Rose single-mindedly infict as much misery as possible on each other. Rather then just get divorced, they declare WAR, fighting to the ...

Inspirational story about finding true love.
The second of the "Love Comes Softly" videos. These stories should be seen by every child in America. Michael Landon Jr has continued where his father has left off and I know he is in heaven looking down on his son with such great pride and love. If you can't afford to buy them all (six so far) then I urge you to watch them on The Hallmark Channel and pick your favorite and add it to your ...

Another brilliant thriller from Hollyweird.
Disclosure is basically a movie about sexual harassment. For once, it's the male who's being harassed. Yes people, it does happen in real life. It makes the story more compelling than if it had been the usual "damsel in distress" kind of movie. Not that I'm trying to lessen the impact of sexual harassment against either gender. This kind of behavior is inexcusable for anyone. Disclosure ...

A Movie As Important As It Is Excellent
While people are currently complaining that we are fighting a foreign war that we have no way of winning, there is in fact a homeland war that is looking just as grim that gets far less media attention. That war is the war on drugs, a war that is examined in all different angles in Steven Soderbergh's exceptionally brilliant "Traffic." "Traffic" covers drugs from beginning to end. While "Crash" ...

"Walkies? Yeeeessss!"
That's my favorite line in the film, from a wickedly funny exchange between the Queen and her son Prince Charles. She says it to her beloved dogs when she abruptly decides to go for a walk and leave the Prince to drive off in a huff to a stag hunt after he exasperates her with his wimpish apprehension of getting shot at. One of my favorite scenes in an excellent film. Helen Mirren deserved her ...

One of my favorites growing up
Paul Verhoeven has created a masterwork from Joe Eszterhas' controversial script. Several sex scenes become a leitmotif, as the participants appear to pummel, rather than love, one another with their nether parts. But the most rugged and the most erotic scene occurs between Detective Nick Curran, Michael Douglas, and his colleague, Beth Garner, portrayed by Jeanne Tripplehorn. He throws her ...

twisted
Michael Douglas is so convincing as a cold, calculating criminal/big business man, who hatches a scheme to do away with his cheating wife. Since the other man in the picture is also quite deviant, the plot gets complicated and things don't work out as planned. The result is an intelligent thriller that will draw you into the intrigue and keep you guessing as to what will happen next. ...
