Send Roses!
As the daylight fades over the Hollywood Bowl, the orchestra begins - conducted by none other than Don Pippin, Jerry Herman's frequent musical director. The star-studded tribute under the open sky transports us into the delicious, passionate, tender, often witty, self-affirming world of Jerry Herman's scores for musicals like "Mame," "Hello, Dolly!" "La Cage aux Folles." How did I manage to ...

Perfect Documentary
If you want to know Cole Porter, this is a better introduction than the recent film effort, "De-Lovely," and far better than the old Cary Grant fiction. Both movies fudge on Cole's character, with "De-Lovely" trying to depict Porter as a guy working out his gay issues through marriage, which is total nonsense. Cole Porter was arguably the greatest of all the composers of American Standards, ...

I knew of Vilanch as a comedy writer, but I had no idea all this guy was into and how much respect he has in the industry. Parts of this DVD are laugh out loud hilarious and frankly Robin Williams has NEVER been funnier and that really is saying something, his bit is totally extemporaneous and it is classic Robin Williams, it alone is worth the price of this DVD, but it really is Vilanch that ...

PERFECT BIOGRAPHICAL DOCUMENTARY
There has never been a documentary on a behind-the-scenes person in show business, that is as perfect as this one. It covers EVERY aspect of Herman's marvelously productive career.....from early off Broadway shows (PARADE) to the Broadway hits (DOLLY, MAME, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES) to the Broadway failures (DEAR WORLD, GRAND TOUR, MACK & MABEL) to him today (when this documentary was made). An ...

On Fire!
All of the dancers are fabulous and the title is appropriate. I think all of the dancers are exceptionally talented but I'm always partial to Jillina because I was inspired to try bellydancing because of her. But I love the styles of Ansuya and Rania as well who are both so different from Jillina. Truly entertaining.

Numerous Popular Television Performers On Display Here, But The Script Furnishes Virtually No Interest.
This artless effort was produced for television as a pilot film for a projected series that was not selected by its network as it was believed that the co-stars lacked that charisma required to maintain audience interest, a judgemental miscue because the leads, Robert Urich and Tom Selleck, directly after became very accomplished in that medium. These two are cast as Los Angeles Police ...

Four Great Song Writers, Who Happened To Be Women
Subtitled "The Women of Tin Pan Alley," it's a fascinating look at several women composers and lyric writers who managed to make a name for themselves in the Twenties and Thirties writing some great popular songs. This was the golden age of American song writing and, like everything else except marriage, was difficult for a woman to break into. The program, one of the American Masters series ...

Great Episode Movie!
Found movie at a pawn shop, watched and enjoyed it. I was hoping to find other episodes of this movie because of the way it ended .... she is still on the run, looking for evidence to clear her name. Does anyone know if other movies were made regarding the "Hunted Lady?"
