The Longest Yard
Robert Aldrich's crowd-pleasing prison/football comedy makes us favor the irreverent convict-outsiders (played by a who's who of 1970s NFL stars) while disdaining the opposing bulls, led by ruthless warden Hazen and the vicious Capt. Knauer (Ed Lauter). Real-life collegiate player Burt Reynolds scored his first post-"Deliverance" hit with his assured, charismatic portrayal of Paul Crewe. Aldrich ...

Great message of faith. Also alerts you to the fact that we must at all times protect our children because the enemy (satan) is out to destroy them. They are our future.

Low budget and poorly produced but still a great film
The film starts off feeling like a bad Lifetime movie. It has a sort of after school special feel to it. It's low budget, not very skillful in its direction, and Pitt is still developing his craft. He's not yet at his best. Despite all this, the further you get into the film the more involving it becomes. I loved this film. There is a lot of depth to the relationship between the two ...

Stranglers in the Night----Tony Curtis Shines in this Fiction-Thriller.
(This was the best satirical comedy,i think i've ever seen yet.)Well,Tony was looking for a different type of film ,that would bring out the best he had to offer as an actor. His previous film,'Don't Make Waves',co-starring Sharon Tate, bombed at the box office. This Strangler film was a vastly different genre film, that his fans and public viewers, had difficulty accepting.Eventhough the story-line ...

My favorite movie of all time
La Bamba is my favorite movie of all time hands down. Of all the films I have seen not many reached me the way La Bamba did. I first saw this movie back in the summer of 96 when I was 17-years old and I fell in love with this movie and also became a big fan of Ritchie Valens. No joke I would watch this movie every single day it was on. La Bamba was a staple part of HBO's line up and even if it ...

A beautiful little gem!
This is one of those beautifully filmed and well-acted movies that stayed below radar for me these past few decades, only to be recently discovered whilst browsing through my Netflix rental site. What a gem! Diane Lane in her acting debut does an excellent job in her lead role as Lauren, a 13-year-old intelligent, wise beyond her years girl whose affinity for books is shared by a French boy ...

Northfork, Montana (1776-1955)
A dreamy, stunningly atmospheric film takes place in a small town of Northfork, Montana in 1955. The government officials arrive to evacuate the town about to be inundated by a new hydroelctrical dam. There are the other visitors in the town, the angels from another time but they only seen by a dying boy Irvin. A local priest (Nick Nolte in a quiet heartbreaking performance) takes care of the ...

Excellent period horror film
I really loved this movie!!! It was very different than many horror films because it took place in a German bunker during war time. Probably the reason that it was soo scarey and chilling to me, is I wonder how many "old bunkers" that exist now actually are haunted. What stories could be told from them? It did remind me of Dead Birds in which the past does repeat itself over and over again. I ...

Learn to Laugh at Yourself!
This movie made me smile, or rather I should say I broke out in laughter many times! If you see the humor of the situations of "Sex in the City" or laugh at "Malcomb in the Middle" this movie is for you! The short scene in the strip club was probably the only scene to earn the R rating. Otherwise adult humor, some language.
