The Mudge Boy20 reviews
Emile Hirsch, Tom Guiry

Strand Releasing, 2006

Introduce youself to Emile Hirsch!!
You most likely never heard of him before but after you see " Into the Wild " you will! The Mudge Boy is an entertaining introduction to young Mr. Hirsch with a very compelling performance as a somewhat disfunctional boy in a rural setting with a very unconventional storyline but a movie that you will be glad you saw. The ending in quite a mindblower.

Quid Pro Quo2 reviews
Kate Burton, Nick Stahl

Magnolia, 2008

Strange and Fascinating Detective Story
Helpful Note: Wikipedia definition: Quid pro quo (Latin for "something for something") indicates a more-or-less equal exchange or substitution of goods or services. Carlos Brooks makes an impressive debut as both writer and director of this little independent film QUID PRO QUO, a story that may make some viewers uncomfortable because of the subject matter, but an intelligent investigation of ...

Lords of Dogtown61 reviews
John Robinson (IX), Emile Hirsch

Sony Pictures, 2005

Beautiful and wild, co-starring Heath Ledger
After slowly getting over the news of Heath Ledger's death, I wanted to watch him again in one of his movies. Although I like Brokeback Mountain, I prefer this one. It's the story of the Z-Boys, four teenage surfer friends who in the mid seventies take up skate boarding and thus change the world of sports forever. Heath is "Far Out!" Skip, a surfer and surf store owner who is the first to ...

The Manchurian Candidate (Widescreen Edition)202 reviews
Jeffrey Wright, Pablo Schreiber

Paramount, 2004

A new incarnation that works well
Manchurian Candidate is closer to the original, at least in spirit, than might be expected. But it's not the exact movie, and it hardly could have been. The relevance of the original to today's events counts little to an audience with little sense of history, and that has a hard time drawing meaning from any social context out of its experience. One glimpse of black and white films stock, men in ...

A Painted House12 reviews
Scott Glenn, Arija Bareikis

Lions Gate, 2003

A Painted House (DVD) based on novel by John Grisham
An excellent movie breathing life into the story and characters as depicted in John Grisham's story. I loved the book and this film really does it justice. A must have for any John Grisham fans.

Invitation to a Suicide1 review
Pablo Schreiber, Marcin Gajowczyk

Lightyear Video, 2006

A bold and daring dark comedy that merits a cult following
Looking for something different, something weird and avant-garde, a film you can tell all your friends about? How about a film based on the premise of a young man selling tickets to his own suicide? Now, we're probably going to lose some folks right here, as the idea of someone killing himself for money won't intrigue some people the way it did me, and some will no doubt reject such a "sick" ...

Into the Fire2 reviews
Ed Lauter, Ron McLarty

Mti Home Video, 2007

It's All So Sad! "Into The Fire" Is A Quietly Powerful Film Of Loss, Learning, And Living Again
Headlining a film with a lead character who is socially disconnected, uncommunicative, and grief stricken doesn't usually signal "feel good" entertainment. Being emotionally muted, real human interactions and relationships are something that Walter Harwig (Sean Patrick Flanery) ignores in the earnest drama "Into The Fire." But you can only avoid colliding with other lives for so long. He ends ...
