Loved this movie. It brought back pleasant memories of when I saw it the first time when it was new!. The music held up very well. Still like looking at all the "stuff" on the set and in the background. The actors did well and the costumes are still beautiful. The cover art was painted by an important graphic designer that I still admire.

Friday the 13th 3 (1982)
Well, I absolutly loved Friday the 13th Part 1 & 2, so I was alittle iffy about a third sequel, I didn't know if it could keep up the good streak of films, but I actually, loved this again! The film, opens with a recap of the events with part 2, with the head of Betsy Palmer on the table and Amy Steele pretending to be Jasons mom. Now in the real film, the opening titles show a cool 3-D ...

Idiots make me mad!
Don't listen to nitpickers who tear apart a lot of hard work--this is hardly a "sleazy" attempt by the evil Warner bean-counters to "unload" black and white or substandard cartoons. This is a labor of love designed to get every cartoon out to the adult collector. If you don't like it, you're a trash-talking flame-thrower who wouldn't understand a conversation about finger painting, let alone ...

Great thriller.
I saw this movie a long time ago and decided to refresh my memory. I'm glad I did as this movie has stood up fairly well over time. I'll keep it short. The good? Superb performances from Gere, Linney and especially Norton. Norton simply steals the show as the simple altar boy. Great direction. Excellent score. The bad? Considering I saw this a back when it came out the ending really ...

deeper and more complex than it at first appears
All art reflects, to some degree, its era. "Cool Hand Luke" appeared at a time when people were increasingly losing their respect for authority. So it's natural to see Lucas Jackson as a rebel against the establishment, and nothing more. But Lucas is, in a way, a lot less -- "A 'nothing' hand can be cool". As he says to Dragline, "I've never planned anything in my life." He has no goal or ...

Let us all Strangle war and bury in the depths of the earth.
Volunteering in WWI must not have been dissimilar to the views teenagers now have about Hollywood, and its offered excessive lifestyle. As this war rages on, teachers deceive these German teens of the benefits of war, and their innocent visualization of the war is much more grand and eclectic than the blind patriot's vision of success in battle. The instructor's bellowing statements about war ...

Noticeable upgrade over DVD
Paramount continue to offer solid, accurate Blu-ray transfers of this series. Both "Friday the 13th" and "Friday the 13th Part 2" look excellent and filmic on Blu-ray with appropriate amounts of grain and so on. (Read my reviews for those individual titles.) "Friday the 13th Part 3" on Blu-ray (BD) continues the trend of offering up this series in the best quality possible. However, this BD ...

Superb, authentic modern gangster tale
CARLITO'S WAY (1993), directed by Brian DePalma, is a true modern day gangster masterpiece! I have loved this film ever since I first saw it back in the 90s. It's one of those movies that I would watch over and over again. Even today, I am amazed at how much this film holds up. In a lot of ways, CARLITO'S WAY is one of the most involving of all gangster films because it allows the viewer to get ...

Review of Sleeping Dictionary
I thought this movie was great. Jessica Alba was perfect for the role. I can not imagine anyone that would have been more suited, or done a better job. The movie was beautiful. The characters were believable for such an unfamliar situaion. The plot was interesting and executed perfectly. I think Jessica Alba has not been reviewed fairly by establishment critiques. This should put all doubts ...
