Well worth the money
If you love funk guitar you must get acquainted with Leo Nocentelli's work with The Meters. This DVD won't teach everything you need to know in order to play funk guitar; for that more material is needed. However, it does offer a very valuable insight into Leo's playing and if you take what he shows and learn it, apply it, improvise on it and own it you will definitely become a better player. ...

Finally...
I was a Bass Player years ago and just recently, my son decided to pick up playing guitar...well, long story short - I played his guitar as much as he did. I wanted to get him - and I - something to learn from and found the Rock House website http://www.rockhousemethod.com/?=29814 and what a blessing it was. I ordered this DVD (in addition to a few more) and have not been disappointed. The ...

OK but I was hoping for more
I am a total beginner and that is what this instructional DVD is obviously for. But after watching it I came away wishing there was more to it. If you are a total beginner you can definitely pick up some good information but there isn't a whole lot of material covered. In addition to this DVD, I would also consider two others by Ralph Shaw: The Complete Ukulele Course taught by Ralph Shaw & ...

You'll be Bass Rocking in No Time!
I'm so glad that I ordered this DVD. I've been playing bass (self-taught) for a while now, and don't have the time for real lessons; so this gives me the confidence that I needed to know what to do on the bass. It starts off basic and builds upon that foundation. Don't rush ahead--take your time and you'll be rocking along in no time flat. If you are looking for a great instructional video, ...

Mediocre at best
Simply put, John McCarthy is an above averge player and a below average teacher. The fact that this "beginner course" is almost 3 years old, and there is no intermediate or advanced DVD tells you something. I knew something was off the moment I pressed play on the DVD player. The menu screen pops up, and we hear the sounds of a wailing ELECTRIC guitar, soloing for over 6 minutes. The DVD ...

Advanced Metal
This instructional DVD was extremely helpful. Thanks to this DVD, I won first place in a contest of 15 people. My friend, whom I recommended this DVD to, won second place in a contest out of 10 people. My skill level increased immensely and I plan to continue to buy Rock House Method Products. "Advanced Metal" was the best instructional guitar DVD I have ever purchased.

Great for aspiring bass players
The DVD is nicely paced with clear instruction and opportunities to repeat each step. The accompanying booklet is very basic, but also very clear and illustrates the lessons on the DVD very well. Phil Z.
