The Verdict75 reviews
Paul Newman, Charlotte Rampling

20th Century Fox, 2002

An Astonishing Treasure
I originally saw The Verdict when it was first released theatrically, but I had forgotten how wonderful this film is until I ordered the Two-Disc Collector's Edition. The Verdict captures perhaps the best performance of Paul Newman's storied career, plus a memorable appearance by film legend James Mason as his ably evil legal adversary. The Verdict is much more than a courtroom drama: it is the ...

Highlander286 reviews
Christopher Lambert, Roxanne Hart

Starz / Anchor Bay, 2002

One of my favorite movies ever! Forget all the old DVD editions, the Immortal Edition is the one to have!
First of all I have to say that Highlander is one of the greatest fantasy pictures of all time. I saw it for the first time on DVD, the one DVD that Republic put out back in 1997. Now of course I was not too big on picture quality and audio and widescreen ratios but as the years passed my mind changed. The DVD did suck balls despite the THX logo on the front of it. So much for a good transfer. ...

The Films of Paul Newman (The Verdict/The Hustler/Butch Cassidy)3 reviews
Paul Newman, Charlotte Rampling

20th Century Fox, 2002

Two of his best films + his most popular one in a bargain package
This is like most bargain multi-pack DVD packages: it simply takes three pre-existing DVD's (with the same inserts and plastic cases) and puts them in a boring, cardboard slipcase. The concept isn't exciting, but economically, this is an excellent deal. It would be more expensive to buy these DVD's individually, and there really isn't any filler either. "The Verdict" and "The Hustler" are not ...

Follow The Stars Home27 reviews
Kimberly Williams, Campbell Scott

Lions Gate, 2002

A moving film about unconditional love
I just finished watching this movie - I cried all through it! I just had to write a review and give my 5 stars. This movie was very moving and personal to me; we have a child who is disabled and I am so grateful that I married a man who can handle it. This film shows various relationships portrayed in contrast to each other - fascinating study in human nature. The movie left me with a ...

The Good Girl220 reviews
Jennifer Aniston, Deborah Rush

20th Century Fox, 2003

A guilty pleasure.
The Good Girl (Miguel Arteta, 2002) You know those movies where you laugh, but every time you do you feel guilty for doing so? Yeah, that's The Good Girl. Arteta (Chuck and Buck) starts this off as if it's going to be a light, breezy (if mean-spirited) comedy, but things just keep getting more and more tragic. The brilliance of the film is that the more tragic they get, the funnier the script ...

License to Wed69 reviews
Robin Williams, Mandy Moore (II)

Warner Home Video, 2007

Great Movie!
I realize a lot of people hated this movie, but come on! Movie's are meant to be enjoyed and if you want realism, try a reality show. "License to Wed" was a great movie. I have not laughed so hard in a long time. I especially enjoyed the robot babies in the department store changing room scene. I watched it over and over again, because of it's slaptstick qualities. Granted the robot babies did ...

Easy13 reviews
Marguerite Moreau, Anna Alvim

Universal Studios, 2005

Marguerite Moureau is simply gorgeous!
For all people who want to see a movie which is quite beautiful, and yet show a lot of nudity. The angellike and gorgeous Marguerite Moureau of "Helter skelter" plays a girl in search for real love. She tries almost everything under her search and in the end finds love in a man she has known for years, one of her closest friends. I know that part is quite a cliche, but I just love this movie. And ...

Letters from Iwo Jima2 reviews
Roxanne Hart, Ken Kensei

Warner Home Video, 2008

Too bad I don't read fast!
This is a terrific product, IF you speak Japanese or have the ability to speed read. I purchased this item because the advertised spoken language was English or Japanese. Unfortunately, that is not the case. The spoken language is Japanese with English subtitles. A real shame, because I think hearing the profound dialog that I did have time to read would be worth hearing in English.

The Runaway3 reviews
Dean Cain, Pat Hingle

Lions Gate, 2002

One of the best that Hallmark has put out
I loved this film; I kind of wish it would get the Oscars; Unfortunately, it was originally aired on TV: You have these two boys born on the same day; One is black and the other is white; They hook up and become the best of friends; Yet, this is 1940s Georgia; And the black boy's sister gets pregnant presumably by her white employer, then someone turns up dead and things get right ugly. Dean Cain ...

Oh, God! You Devil3 reviews
George Burns, Ted Wass

Warner Home Video, 2005

WASSome...
A little comedic gem. This third installment of the "Oh,God!" series stands on it's own. Several scenes of hilarity are woven with thought provoking ideals. George Burns is in fine form in both roles. His Harry O. Tophet is a scream. Another fine turn by the underrated Ted Wass. An actor who has the knack for comedy, slapstick, and drama. This film is actually better than the mixed reveiws that ...

Moonlight Mile49 reviews
Gordon Clapp, Lenny Clarke

Buena Vista Home Entertainment, 2003

A realistic look at grief
In 1971 'The Rolling Stones' recorded a beautiful track entitled 'Moonlight Mile' which is about being away from the ones you love. In the song he sings the words "I am just living to be lying by your side" and in those words we get it...we understand, and that is why this song, this title is so appropriate for a film of this grander. Susan Surandon and Dustin Hoffman star in this beautiful and ...

Pulse14 reviews
Terry Beaver, Cliff De Young

Sony Pictures, 2005

Alive
A house wiring is alive it seems. His stepmother got burned in the shower, the heating is always on, the television set has this weird blue line in it all the time, and a neighbor just died of the same thing. Good Movie, kinda old.

Home Room36 reviews
Busy Philipps, Erika Christensen

Sony Pictures, 2003

Incredible chemistry between the two actresses!
Alicia and Deanna have the same homeroom and it seems probably did nothing more than exchange glances every morning. Alicia(the goth girl) knew nothing about Deanna but she was one of these beautiful, rich, intelligent white girls that all of the teachers adored! Deanna knew nothing about Alicia but she was "in a world to herself" and she respected that. I will point out from a personal ...
